Best Mg Test Kit Available?
I purchased this Mg Test kit as my old one ran out. It's Fantastic. It's more precise then other tests I have used. + or - 20ppm instead of 50ppm. It also has a tip for the syringe with such a tiny hole it is very easy to get a single drop at a light touch. Also, you can buy chemical replacement kits for this test which lowers the cost after you run out the first time. I doubt I will change to any other test any time soon. I have tried other kits but I like this one the best so far.

Defective?
I purchased a Red Sea Test kit to replace my Salifert kit. Some background on my situation: I’m using Kent Tech-M to manage Bryopsis and I liked the idea of being able to buy replacement tests versus buying another test kit as I have to test frequently. I received the Red Sea Kit and did a back to back test using my old Salifert kit. Salifert was reading ~1900. The Red Sea Magnesium Pro Test indicated over 2400. I thought I had screwed something up and put the test aside. A few days later I tested again and it still read 2400. I tested a second time and it read approximately the same. I assumed my old Salifert test kit was wrong, that I had over-dosed the MG, and did a 15% water change. Post water change, the Red Sea Kit read ~2600. Either the kit is defective or it doesn’t work with high range MG values. Either way, I’m sending it back. On a positive note, I like the plastic container for the Red Sea kit and the instructions are very easy to follow and understand.
