Fluval Ultragrade Carbon

*	Carbon filters help remove odors and discoloration from your aquarium water

Fluval Ultragrade Carbon is ideally suited as a fine water scrub and is best placed in the lowest or middle modules. By placing before any biologically specific media, it will strain and adsorb tiny particles, dissolved impurities and remove dyes, medications, and odors. Place the carbon in a filter bag or place a thin polyester padding over the grid to prevent falling through as Ultragrade Carbon is smaller than the Fluval Module bottom grid. Change carbon monthly. Rinse before use.

great product Works great with Fluval filtration systems and their associated products. Depending on the size of your tank, number of fish and how good a job your pleco does, you might not need to change your filter media for 3 months with this product. :o) October 24, 2012

The best Carbon Media I was using another Chemical media mark when I made a mistake by adding too much medicine to my 100 gal saltwater aquarium to heal my Coral Beauty, the tank was messed up full of foam for 3-5 days, I got this media to put in my FLUVAL G6 filter and next morning foam medicine dissapeared!!!! It comes with bag already I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!! September 20, 2012

This media is already in a nylon bag. Directions say it must be put in a nylon bag to use in Fluval cannister filters. Does that mean it must be placed in ANOTHER nylon bag?

Thank you for your question. This item does not need to be placed in another media bag. It should be used in the bag it comes in, or you can empty multiple of those bags into one large media bag, depending on the size of the filter.

Thank you for your question. Use as many carbon packs as needed to loosely fill the media basket. Because you can place one, two, or even three different kinds of media in each basket, you will be able to design a system that provides additional mechanical filtration, as well as biological and chemical filtration in the widest possible variety of combinations.
