Seachem Buffers Acid 300 grams
Perfect for RO water
These products are the best there are for buffering RO water and arriving at the correct pH. When using straight RO water also use Seachem Equilibrium to restore the minerals removed by RO. Together these three can produce fabulous clean water that will not vary in pH and not be too soft. --- Beware of some buffers which work by adding large amounts of phosphorus --and thereby promote excess algae growth in the planted tank!

Great results and easy to use
I use these products to adjust the pH of my RO/DI water (I use 100% RO/DI). They work great and are very easy to use.

After initial use ph and hardness have been perfect. Fish showed instant improvement and seem calmer and less aggresive. Plants also showed great improvement.

The best way to control pH and KH
The combination of acid buffer and alkaline buffer is amazing, just as long as you don't read the buffering instructions at the bottom. Those are much too confusing.
Instead, buy a KH test kit (and pH if you want), pick a KH value (4-5 is good for freshwater, but check for your particular livestock), and use these products to reach it. If you dose CO2 it will be more challenging but you'll get there eventually. The reason why is that a stable KH is more important than stable pH and those two are much more important than any given pH value. Setting a specific pH is very very difficult because of the large number of salts in aquarium water, but stabilizing KH will take care of a large percentage of them and give you a pretty good, stable pH. That, again, is much more important than any pH value.
The fact that these are solid makes them easy to dose and a very good value. For liquid products, you pay for water plus a small amount of solid product. In addition, alkaline buffer in particular is very strong - you need only a tiny bit to raise the KH a lot.
