Microbe-Lift African Cichlid pH Buffer Stabilizer by Ecological Labs

Gently stabilize your aquarium's pH to the best possible levels for your African Cichlids. Sets Freshwater at a pH of 8.5. Powdered buffers resist pH drop (acidification), hold the pH at an ideal 8.5, and increase carbonate hardness. Also helps to reestablish a target pH level after making partial water changes with change water under target pH. Use for tap water, tank water, and change water. Includes 5-gram scoop. Treats up to 1,500 gallons.

*If desired, double the usage of this buffer per 30 gallons to achieve a slightly higher pH target for Tanganyika species.

Directions: Pre-dissolve buffer in a small amount of dechlorinated water. To raise a low pH and hold it at about 8.5: Add 1 level scoop of this buffer per 30 gallons. To lower a high pH and hold at 8.5: First adjust pH to 8.5 with a decreaser (item #781018) and then add about 1/2 scoop per 30 gallons of water. Check your pH regularly.

Ingredients: Contains a proprietary blend of four sodium and bicarbonate salts, together with essential trace elements, which occur naturally in the African "Rift Lakes" Cichlid waters of Lakes Malawi, Victoria, and Tanganyika.

Suggestions: Particularly for African Cichlids, make frequent partial water changes (20% - 40% every 2-3 weeks) and readjust pH as necessary.
