I prefer the glass thermometer over strips or digital thermometer.

Hagen Thermometers
Not a lot to say. It does what it should and is quite accurate. I use it in my sump. Would not recommend for a display tank as it could possibly knock into things but where I have it is quite good.

what do you expect?
It's a thermometer. Nice, small, accurate within reason. Its not digital so you can't get an exact measurement but then again, it's really cheap. It will get you within a degree and honestly that's good enough. I keep it on the side of the tank on the opposite side from my heater. If you keep your powerhead near the heater, that should eliminate a hot zone and circulate the headed water better.

cheap and works great
I decided to get a new thermometer because the one i was using was about 15 years old. The new thermometer works great and its cheap. What more could you want. It also has a clear plastic suction cup instead of the green or black ones, which helps minimize its visibility.

Your choice of Glass Floating with suction cup, Stainless with hanger or Plastic with suction cup. Glass thermometers are approximately 4-1/4" long x 3/8" diameter. All others are 5-1/2" long x 5/8" wide.
