Hydor Slim Heater is specially designed with the innovative PTC (Positive Thermal Coefficient) element to heat the temperature of your bowl, aquarium or terrarium an average of 5 to 10 degrees F) warmer than room temperature and create a natural healthy environment for fish. If the heater should operate in a partially dry or completely dry situation, it will not sustain any damage, but the heating element might reach a temperature as high as 176°F. Regularly check that the heater does not run in a dry environment, and take care to avoid heater contact with materials that can be damaged by the temperature should it operate dry. Be certain that the heater is not in direct contact with the aquarium bottom, water plants, or other objects that might be damaged by high temperatures.

• Before removing the heater from your aquarium, always disconnect it from the power supply and let it cool for approximately 5 minutes.
• Do not operate the heater unless it is completely submerged.
• Never attempt to service or repair the heater in any way.
• If either the cord or the heater becomes damaged, stop using the heater and replace it.
• Do not tamper with or damage the surface of the heater with scissors or any other sharp object.
• Do not place hands or any object in the aquarium when the heater is connected to an electrical outlet and operating.
• Always use heater with a thermometer. If the water temperature should exceed 75°F, unplug the heater.
• Do not allow children to use the heater without supervision.
• Do not yank the cord from an electrical outlet. Unplug heater by the plug only.
• Do not use this heater for any use other than to increase the water temperature by a few degrees in a 5-10 gallon aquarium.
• Make sure the heater is properly installed before operating it.
• Use extension cords only if they have proper electrical ratings.
• Do not operate the heater underneath an air conditioner vent, in direct sunlight, near a heat source, or under a light source that is on for extended periods of time.
