Great bulb Bought this to enhance colors of tropical fish in my 10 gallon, fresh water, planted aquarium. Great spectrum, powerful (18K), and inexpensive. Now my fish really glow! I already had a 9.3K bulb on the tank, but adding this one made a significant difference. Does enhance algae growth, but that was expected. Recommended! January 25, 2011

Thank you for your question. The 18000K bulbs are more of a blue hue, so this would not be a full spectrum bulb.

I am trying to replace a worn light bulb for my aquarium. It is a 36"/30W/T10. What replaces it?

I am not having any luck finding this particular bulb. The brand is Aqua Glo. Can you guide me in the right direction short of changing my hood? The bulb is dated 2003. Thanks.

Thank you for you question. The manufacturer had discontinued making the Aqua-Glo bulb in the T10 size. They are now only made in T8. The T8 bulbs will fit in the same fixture as the T10 bulbs. The only difference is the bulb is smaller in diameter but the pins are the same distance apart.

I have a 48" Aqua Glo fixture with a starter problem

I have the fixture mentioned above and if I put the starter in the hole where it goes and turn it to seat it properly, the light goes out. I replaced the starter but it still does the same thing. Do I have to replace the fixture completely? Is there a solution for this without being expensive? Thank you very much, Cheryl

48" fixture problem

I have a 48" fixture with a 40W bulb. It has a bad starter or maybe something else is the problem. I replaced the starter that was in it when I recently got it, and it still goes out as soon as I put the starter in and turn it to seat it properly in the hole. If I remove the starter, the light comes back on. Can I still use this fixture without the starter piece? I am not familiar with electric lighting enough to know if it is necessary to have it in place at all times.
