Aqua Fizzzz Airstones

Supply your aquarium with plenty of air bubbles for improved aeration and water movement. Designed to efficiently diffuse air for increased surface agitation. Promotes proper gas exchange to accelerate oxygen replenishment and reduce carbon dioxide buildup.

Extendible Airstones
Two or more Aqua Fizzzz Extendible Airstones can be placed in line with one another for a spectacular bubble effect. They're encased in plastic for longer life and easy placement in the gravel. In 10" lengths. Fits standard airline tubing.

Their large size supplies your aquarium with plenty of bubbles for improved aeration and water circulation. Creates a dazzling underwater scene. Non-extendible. In 4", 6", and 12" lengths. Fits standard airline tubing. Airstones, curtains, and diffusers require an air pump and airline tubing for use (sold separately).

Tips

• Place your air pump in an elevated location higher than your aquarium to prevent a back-siphon effect that may occur in the event of a power outage.
• Use a unidirectional check valve to prevent back siphon.
• Install an air flow control valve to regulate bubble output through your airstones.
• Use a gang valve to run multiple airstones through a single air pump. Keep in mind that the air flow through each airstone will decrease as air is diverted to run more airstones.
• Algae and other organic buildup on the airstone's surface can decrease air bubble production. To maintain optimum bubble production, use a brush to scrub off organic buildup.
• Proper aeration creates a healthy environment for fish but also allows efficient biological filtration to take place. Aerobic bacteria require oxygen to break down harmful ammonia and nitrite.
• In aquariums with photosynthetic organisms (plants or corals), set your air pump on a timer to run when the lights are turned off. Photosynthetic plants and corals release carbon dioxide at night. Running an air pump at night provides vital aeration to counteract the harmful effects of carbon dioxide buildup.
