Efficient biological filtration. Do not exceed the maximum flow rate. I'm currently using more sand and less flow with amazing results.
(Too much flow; not enough time to process water. ) ( Not enough flow or to little sand; not enough water processed.) These filters do what they claim, as long as you stay under the max. flow rate. A very stable form of biological filtration.
