Installation
Do not immerse the pump before connecting the air tubing. Position the WOW just below the water level as the Wave Effect decreases with depth and eventually disappears. The tubing supplied must be cut into three making sure the length of two pieces are long enough to keep the adjusters out of the water. Insert the tubing into the appropriate nozzle Inputs A and B. The rest of the tubing can be fastened to the provided clip to supply the airstone to oxygenate the aquarium.
Insert the suction cups into position and insert the filter chamber (Model 80) by simply rotating it. For Models 160 and 235, the filter with one sponge must be attached last. Insure that it is assembled in the right direction.
Insert the wavemaker by slightly adjusting the spring. Position the WOW vertically into position using the special adjusters and place the airstone in the best position for oxygenation. To obtain a wave effect, connect the aerator output hose to Input A thus eliminating the airstone.
A heater (sold separately) can be fastened to the filter using the supplied clip, which allows it to be easily detached.
For models with LED Mood Light, insert the LED into position by pressing hard or fastening it to side of tank using suction cup provided. Connect plug to electrical outlet.
Operating
Position the flow adjuster to obtain a jet of water that will best suit the tank size. To adjust amount of air flow simply rotate the air-flow regulator.
Maintenance Important: Maintenance should be carried out regularly for an efficient filtering and oxygenating system. Disconnect plug before performing any maintenance.
To clean the filter
Detach each chamber by turning and easing it out. Wash the sponge under running water or replace if necessary. The filtering media in the cartridge need only be rinsed. To clean the impeller -it is necessary to first remove the suction cup base plate by adjusting the locking plate. Ease out aerator unit, which can be released by pushing the special projecting catch downwards. Then release the pump housing in the same way. Remove the impeller from its position taking care not to lose the bushings. Wash under running water to remove any deposits, or replace if necessary. Do not use any soap or detergents. Replace all parts in the reverse order keeping the oval front in the proper position on the pump.
A proper flow rate is essential for your aquarium's filter to work its best. This means that your aquarium will stay cleaner longer, providing a healthier environment for your inhabitants.
