Digital Temp Alert 4" x 4" x 3/4"
Big Digital Temp - Awesome!
Very easy to read, and the temp is very accurate. The only feature I find confusing is that the "Out" temp is actually the water tempurature, while "In" reads the room temp. Thought it would be the other way around, but once you get used to reading it that way, it's not a big deal. Hooks right to your tank, while two probes maintain the tempurature. You can also set up alerts when the temp gets too low or too high! Easy to keep it your sump so it's hidden from view. Great product!!

Sensor wire deteriorates
Bought 2 of these for the ease of reading them along with the alarms. AAA battery provides great life. The room temp. sensor works great and tests accurate with 2 traditional glass thermometers. The in tank sensor is accurate at first, but the wire insulation goes bad, gets brittle over time and then the sensor becomes unreliable. This takes just over 1 year to occur. The warranty is only good for 1 year. I kept one of my units on a bookshelf to display the room temp. even though the sensor was no longer accurate for the aquarium Still want one like this that works. Tried mine again. Placed the tank sensor next to a glass thermometer about midtank. Glass thermometer reads 83 (exactly where my heater is set) and this sensor is reading 78.3. 5 degrees off is not accurate enough for delicate and expensive fish. I have only fresh water aquariums and therefore have never used them in a salt tank. I imagine the longevity of the product would suffer.

wire is fish bait
It worked fine until one of the creatures in the tank removed the insulation on the wire. Then it shorted out and began alrming that the temperature was over the limit. Not good! If you have little creatures that can move the wire or abrade the very thin insulation, look at other thermometers. Just saying.
