Works best on free-floating algae.
I will start by saying I have been battling algae in my 20 g for 2 months. I have a Fluval Ultra-bright LED light on my tank which is quite bright. I do water changes every week and tank is stocked light. Water is always slightly "foggy". I added this to the tank after scrubbing the glass, live plants, and the following day, all the cloudy water was gone. As far as the growth on the plants, I would say it just sort of "knocks it down" and gives it pause. Does not seem to completely stop the growth. Had to scrub the tank a lot and I am now on my third dose of this stuff after about a week of usage. I bought a toothbrush and scrubbed my driftwood and my live Anubius Nana with this product full strength (outside the tank) and it decimated the green and black algae. Seems fine on the fish. They do not seem affected. Live plants also seem fine, and seem almost more healthy with the water more clear. Does not seem to slow down BBA though. I will have to see long term if it does.... oh, the instructions on the bottle are hard to find. They are actually UNDER the product label. You peel the label back (at the easy peel arrow) and the instructions are inside.

Works great and without problems to my fish
However, although the bottle was packaged well against leaking in transport, it did leak a little. My biggest problem and reason for not giving the manufactor a 5 star was because I had to call Foster and Smith for directions on how to use it. It was not written on the bottle and no leaflet was packed with the product. Thanks to the rep from Foster and Smith I was able to use it correctly.
