Innovative media niches secure Activated Carbon Insert and BIOMAX Insert in the Foam Filter Block for space-saving, layered chemical and biological filtration. Installing your Aquarium

1. Thoroughly rinse the aquarium, cover and filter media using fresh water and a damp cloth. Never use soap on any component placed in your aquarium as soap is harmful to fish. NOTE: Place aquarium on a level, sturdy surface, away from any electrical equipment, direct sunlight, drafts, heat sources or high traffic areas.
2. Position filter media, pump and output nozzle.
3. Using the Allen Key, secure light unit onto aquarium.
4. When filling aquarium with water, add the correct dose of tap water conditioner and biological aquarium additive (sold separately). Note: Consult your fish dealer for proper species and fish stocking levels.

Maintaining your Aquarium
NOTE: To ensure the well being of aquarium inhabitants, it is essential to maintain your aquarium. At the very minimum, remove 20% of the water once a week and replace with fresh water that is of similar temperature to your tank and treated with the correct dose of aquarium water conditioners.

NOTE: Regular replacement of the Fluval Filter Media is essential to ensure optimal performance. The filter media should be changed alternately in order to maintain continuous biological activity. To enhance bacterial actions, pour a dose of Nutrafin Cycle Biological Water Conditioner onto your filter inserts each time you change the media.

The Fluval SPEC is a compact aquarium that's perfect for desktops and countertops. The etched-glass aquarium with aluminum trim combines style and functionality in one nano package.

This desktop aquarium kit comes with a powerful circulation pump with adjustable output nozzle and a large 3-stage filtration system that provides more than enough filtration for exceedingly clean and clear water. It also includes all the necessary filter media: a porous foam pad, activated carbon, and BIOMAX bio rings for effective and thorough mechanical, chemical, and biological filtration. The pump and filtration system are conveniently located in a separate chamber at the back of the aquarium, simplifying maintenance.

In addition, the Fluval SPEC includes more than ample LED lighting - consisting of 31 powerful LED lamps - that conveniently arcs above the aquarium to provide brilliant illumination for plants and décor.
