Great aquarium The lighting in this aquarium is beautiful. Terrific aquarium for viewing the fish and plants. We are very pleased. Easy to clean and maintain. Would definitely recommend this aquarium to a friend. March 27, 2013

Caves are great in a tank! I am glad I chose the LARGE SIZE caves. They appear to be larger than what you think when you are choosing them to begin with. I wish they were even bigger so I put the two of them in my 55 gal. tank and they look great. My catfish love them and the tank looks organized with plenty of plants for fish to enjoy. Tip* I use zipties to tie my artificial plants to rocks instead of "digging and burying" them. This way I just move them by lifting them into place quickly. Take a look at my pic. Thanks. Very realistic. The Underwater Galleries Sea Cave is a very realistic limestone sea cave. The small version fits well in a four gallon bowl. Add a plant or two and you have an excellent hiding place for any small fish(s) including a Betta fish. September 20, 2012

Better Than Cichlid Stones... Ordered a few to compare to cichlid stones. IMO better pricing and looks more natural and best of all my Trophs and Frontosa's love them... August 12, 2012

Do these caves have sharp edges?

Nearly every aquarium decoration or cave I've purchased at local pet stores have sharp edges on them in many places. I usually end up spending two hours carefully sanding every edge, nook, and cranny to prevent my fishes' fins from getting torn on them. Since these caves are made from fired ceramic as opposed to what I'm guessing is painted resin that is typically found in pet stores, are they smooth all over? Like a ceramic pot or coffee mug is? Or do they also have some sharp edges that will need to be sanded smooth??? Thanks. :)

There are absolutely NO sharp edges on these caves. The openings are extremely smooth and are rounded and the fish won't get hurt going in or out of them (there are 3 openings). I Love mine and you will too. You will want to get a larger cave than what you think you need. I ended up using 2 LARGE caves in my 55 gallon tank......see picture so you'll know what I mean. I love the look it gave my tank. Plus I "zip tie" my plants to rocks so to rearrange my plants all I have to do is lift them up and place them where I want. Real easy! I've had at least 3 tanks for many years in our home.

If the product clearly states that it more closely resembles or reflects the stone finish, then why did that one reviewer get a BLUE cave?

Will I get some other color than the stone finish if I purchase one of the underwater sea caves? I definitely was going to purchase one--but I DEFINITELY ONLY want the stone finish.

Thank you for your question. We did check this item in our warehouse and it is very similar to the picture online. The item is a natural, beige stone finish. There are no other colors available at this time.

Are these caves pleco safe?

I've had issues in the past with my pleco sucking the paint off of decorations (primarily painted resin decor). The only decor I've been able to use with out problems are wood, silk, and terracotta. So, I was wondering if these caves would be suitable to use with my albino bristlenose pleco or if he would suck the glaze off of these the same as he does with painted resin?

Thank you for your question. The Underwater Galleries Sea Caves are made of ceramic, not resin. The glaze is baked on with a firing process. Your Pleco will not be able to pull off the baked on glaze.

Will live plants bond to these caves similar to real rocks?

I currently have anubias with roots bonded to rocks. Will the anubias eventually bond to these caves?

Thank you for your question. According to the vendor, they have see plants that have attached themselves to the cichlid stones. The sea caves are the same material (ceramic) and use the same glazing process, to they are porous enough to have plants attach to them as well.
