Great sand
I was a little worried when I bought this sand because I thought I would have nothing but a dust cloud in the tank. I was worried for nothing. It caused a cloud when I first put it in but it settled and looks great. I have my live rock in now and my fish and corals. It's brilliant white color really makes the tank look outstanding. I had some crushed coral that I had cleaned and left over after my last tank and I sprinkled a little here and there to give it a little texture and contrast, looks nice. I'm very happy Drs. F&S with this product and you guys had the best price around. Thanks again for your wonderful service.

Great for Gobies
My favorite Reef substrate. By having fish sift this, the bottom stays cleaner. It also helps add calcium back to the tank. The sifting of the fish is like a natural calcium reactor!!

dust cloud for months
This sand is so fine. I used it when setting up a reef tank and it was cloudy for almost a week before clearing up. Then, once cleared up, every time I moved anything around it was another dust cloud! I would definitely consider using another brand of live sand, the 20lb bags that other companies make for about the same price are well well well worth the price!

This super-fine sand (0.2 to 1.22 mm grain size) is ideal for shallow static beds and bottom covering of up to 1" in depth. Also known as "oolitic" sand, this sugar-sized sand naturally aids in the reduction of nitrates. Its fine round grains pass easily through the gills of gobies and other sand-sifting organisms. The smooth, round grains are gentle on soft-bellied sharks and rays. Pure and safe - metal, ash, and silica free. White in color. 30 pounds.
