Viokase-V is a supplemental form of pancreatic enzymes for cases of pancreatic enzyme deficiency. FDA-approved for use in dogs and cats. The enzymes are normally produced by the pancreas and are needed to help digest and absorb fats, proteins, and carbohydrates. In pancreatic insufficiency, these enzymes are not produced in sufficient quantity. If feeding dry food, be sure to moisten food with warm water to activate enzymes. Treatment will be needed for the life of the pet.
