Correct behavior safely and effectively from up to a 300-yard-range

Four spray levels plus tone buttons give you flexibility in correcting or reinforcing your dog
A safe way to correct your pet's behavior without using electricity - up to 300 yards away. This remote spray trainer, at the push of a button, activates the collar to emit a harmless but unpleasant citrus spray, to distract your dog and interrupt the behavior. It's very effective. With a 300-yard range, this is our longest-range remote spray trainer.
Features four levels of spray (increases by duration of spray). You choose the level that's best for your dog, or start with negative tone only and see if your dog responds. For stubborn dogs, you can use spray and negative tone at the same time. It also features positive tone for rewarding obedience and positive behaviors, so you can reinforce your training in non-food ways.
There's no need to replace batteries with this system. Both the lightweight transmitter and the receiver collar have built-in, rechargeable batteries and a charging jack. You simply plug in the included adapter to charge them, just as you would to charge a cell phone. Yellow LED light lets you know when spray is running low. The can contains approximately 300-400 sprays and the collar holds approximately 40 sprays per fill.
System includes: Waterproof remote transmitter, waterproof and adjustable 4.8 oz buckle-style receiver collar (black), charging adapter, one can of citrus spray, built-in rechargeable batteries, lanyard, and instruction booklet. Fits necks up to 28".

Remote Transmitter: Transmits the radio signal to the receiver collar. It is waterproof. Transmitter Indicator Light: Indicates that a button is pressed and also serves as a low-battery indicator. Intensity Dial: Provides multiple levels of spray so you can match the correction to your pet's temperament. Upper Button: This button is factory set to deliver a negative tone only. Lower Button: This button is factory set to deliver the spray correction set by the intensity dial. Side Button: This button is factory set to deliver a positive tone only. Universal Charging Adaptor: Used to charge the receiver collar and the remote transmitter. Charging Jack: For connecting the charger. Keep the cover in place when not charging to keep the debris out of the opening. Continuous Spray: You control when and how much spray is delivered to your dog through the receiver collar. When the spray correction (lower button) is pressed, the spray will be delivered with 1.5 second intervals. If you continue to press the lower button, the spray will time out after 10 seconds. It will remain in timeout until the button is released. Negative Tone: Use a negative tone (upper button) with a spray to stop unwanted behaviors. Timing is critical. The negative tone followed by the spray should occur during or immediately after the unwanted behavior. Once your dog associates the negative tone with the spray, you will only need to use the negative tone. Positive Tone: Use the positive tone (side button) as a marker to reinforce positive behavior. Again, timing is critical. Praise or treat the dog immediately following the positive tone. Receiver Collar: Receives the radio signal from the remote transmitter. It is waterproof. Low Spray Indicator: After the yellow LED appears there will be 5-10 additional sprays before the collar is completely empty. Two Color LED: Indicates when the receiver collar has been turned on or off. This light also serves as a low battery indicator. Please see instruction guide for additional LED functions.

Rechargeable Batteries
The rechargeable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries are not memory sensitive and do not require depletion before charging.
The batteries come partially charged from the factory, but will require a full charge (24 hours) before the first use.
Remember - Always keep batteries away from flame.
When storing the unit for long periods, remember to regularly give batteries a full charge (12 hours). This should be done once every 4 to 6 weeks.
Excessive overcharging can shorten battery life. After initial charge, never leave the battery plugged in for more than 12 hours.
If your equipment has not been charged for an extended period, you may experience a decrease in battery life the first few uses. Afterwards, the battery life will return to previous capacity levels.
You should expect hundreds of recharge cycles from your batteries. However, all rechargeable
batteries lose capacity over time relative to the number of recharge cycles they experience. This is normal. If your operating time drops to half of the original life, contact the Customer Care Center to purchase a new battery.
The batteries should last for a period of 3-5 years. When a battery needs replacement, you can order a new pack by contacting our Customer Care Center or visit our website at www.petsafe.net. Please do not open the Receiver Collar or Handheld Transmitter until you have received the replacement.
Fit the Receiver Collar
Important: The proper fit and placement of your Receiver Collar is important for effective operation.
To assure a proper fit, please follow these steps:
Make sure that the Receiver Collar is turned off.
Start with your dog standing comfortably.
Place the Receiver Collar high on your dog's neck close to the ears. Center the Receiver Collar underneath your dog's neck, touching the skin. Make sure the PetSafe® logo in the front of the unit is upright. Note: For long-haired dogs, it may be necessary to trim the neck hairs along the path of the spray. It is important that the spray reaches the dog's snout to be effective.
The Collar is designed so you can quickly attach and remove the Receiver Collar from your dog while maintaining the desired fit.
With the Snap Buckle fastened, thread the collar through the Metal Buckle.
Slide the excess collar through the "C" Loop on top of the Snap Buckle. This will hold the collar in place.
Once the collar fit is determined, simply use the Snap Buckle to remove and replace the collar.
The Receiver Collar should fit snugly, yet loose enough to allow one finger to fit under the strap. Allow your dog to wear the collar for several minutes, then recheck the fit. Check the fit again as your dog becomes more comfortable with the Receiver Collar.
Trim the collar as follows:
Mark the desired length of the collar with a pen. Allow for growth if your dog is young or grows a thick winter coat.
Remove the Receiver Collar from your dog and cut off excess.
Important: The Receiver Collar should not be worn for more than 8 hours out of every 24-hour period.
Ensure a Proper Spray Pattern
For the Spray Collar to perform properly, the nozzle must be positioned correctly and there must be a clear path from the Spray Nozzle to your dog's snout. Follow these steps:
Make sure the PetSafe logo on the front of the unit is upright and the Spray Nozzle is angled out and pointing up towards the dog's snout.
For long-haired dogs, it may be necessary to trim the neck hairs along the path of the spray. It is important that the spray reaches the dog's snout to be effective.
To Fill and Refill the Lemon Spray
Remove the collar from your dog.
Turn the unit off.
Hold the Lemon Spray can upright and firmly press the nozzle down into the Refill Port. Hold for 15 seconds and remove.
Note: If spray leaks out, you may need to press harder to complete the seal.
Turn the unit on.
Important: To reset the spray counter, ensure the unit is on. Press and hold the On/Off Button until the Red and Yellow LED Lights turn off.
Note: Do not puncture or incinerate the spray collar or the refill canister. Do not expose to extreme heat or store at temperatures above 120° F.
Find the Best Spray Level for Your Pet
The Spray Trainer has four (4) different Spray Levels. This allows you to choose the amount of spray that is best for your pet. Note: Always start at the lowest level and work your way up. Once you have placed the Receiver Collar on your pet, it is time to find the Spray Level that is best for your pet. This is called the Recognition Level. A slight change in your pet's behavior, such as looking around in curiosity, scratching at his collar, or flicking his ears, indicates the Recognition Level that is best for him.
Follow the steps below to find your pet's Recognition Level:
Press the Upper Button (Negative Tone) for 2 to 3 seconds. If your pet reacts to this, you may use this button for training, simply substitute the Upper Button (Negative Tone) whenever Lower Button (Spray) is used in the Training Guide section. If your pet shows no reaction, go to the next step.
Starting at Level 1, press the Lower Button (correction) continuously for 2 to 3 seconds.
If your pet shows no reaction, go to the next Spray Level and repeat the process.
Repeat each Spray Level several times before moving to the next level.
YOUR PET SHOULD NOT VOCALIZE OR PANIC. IF THIS HAPPENS, GO BACK TO THE PREVIOUS LEVEL AND REPEAT THE PROCESS.
If your pet continues to show no response at Level 4, check the fit of the Receiver Collar.
