• Tinkle Turf products can be used effectively with any commercially available dog scent attractants.
• Spray attractant onto turf, or collect and rub the dog's own urine onto the turf with a paper towel.
• Introduce your dog to the turf and let him sniff around.
• Watch for signs that your pet needs to relieve himself, and then bring him to the Tinkle Turf location.
• Reward your dog with praise and encouragement until use has become a regular habit. If your dog makes a mistake or you catch him going elsewhere, calmly bring him back to the turf area and use encouraging language. Repetition and praise are the keys to success.
• Do not let waste build up on the turf - dogs do not like feces-filled areas and will look for somewhere else to go if the area is not kept clean. Remove all fecal matter as soon as possible.
• Keep the Tinkle Turf system in an area separate from your pet's food, water, and bedding.
• Replace Turf when worn, frayed, tattered, or too soiled to keep clean.

Cleaning Tips

• Do not use harsh detergents or cleaners for turf.
• Hand wash or brush with warm water and mild dish washing liquid, and rinse thoroughly. Let turf air dry fully before replacing in tray.
• Consider the purchase of a second turf to use while the primary turf is being cleaned/dried.
• Turf is NOT machine washable. DO NOT place turf in a washing machine or dryer.
