No dog toy is indestructible. Kongs are safe, beneficial toys designed by people who know and love dogs, but always supervise your dog's use of this toy. Regular use of a Puppy Kong will help increase jaw strength, so after your puppy is 9 months old (for some dogs earlier), we recommend you provide a stronger original red Kong or a black Extreme Kong. Frequently inspect the clean toy under a bright light. Look for damage (such as missing pieces, cracks, separations). Flex the toy and inspect it from different angles. Loose pieces larger than a food nugget can be harmful if swallowed. Worn or damaged Kongs must be replaced promptly to maintain safe play for your dog. If you think your dog has swallowed a toy fragment, notify your veterinarian. Dishwasher safe.
