Rated 5 out of 5 by TopDaddies Nice, Lightweight & Easy To Install
We've had the opportunity to use and install the KidCo Angle Mount gate and really like it. It's easy to install, especially if you use the installation kit (not included, costs extra). Because of it's design, you can install in a location that doesn't necessarily line up straight - at a bit of an angle for example. This is a really convenient feature, as we've used other gates in the past, and because the studs in the wall don't line up perfectly from one side to the other, we could install it in a bit of an angle. The only thing that we found is that the locking cap came off easily, but I just bent back the locking clip a bit, and it now works perfectly. Also, after a bit of use, the mechanism that prevents the gate from opening in the opposite direction seems to spin a bit. It still holds in place, but with a bit of force can move out of place. We found that our older kids seemed to push it too hard when trying to latch the gate, but after showing them how to lock it properly, we no longer have this problem. What we like most about it, is that it is really light weight, and that it can easily be removed if you need to more space when moving furniture etc. Watch our video review below. This angle-mount gate provided the perfect solution during the holidays for our houseful of guests - and their pets: one white German Shepherd; one Canadian White Shepherd; two giant ASH cats; and one Turkish Angora kitten! Miraculously, they all got along just fine! However we knew from past experience that keeping the dogs out of the cat food (and litter boxes) would be a problem. Unfortunately there was no single strategic place with straightforward alignment to mount a gate, but stretching this angle-mount gate across the bottom of our open stairwell (15" from the floor) allowed the cats to roam freely while keeping the dogs out of trouble. The result? Much less stress than previous visits for all concerned! The gates nice wood finish kept it from being an eyesore too, there in the hub of my home. One caveat: the hard plastic (albeit durable) thumb-slide features grip-ridges that are rather sharp. My husband applied some sandpaper and now all's well.

Gate looks awesome. Worked at first until my Great Pyrenee figured out how to get around it. She knocks it out of the wall I think by pushing it up from the bottom. She goes upstairs and destroys a lot of things and uses the bathroom up there. Was really hoping this was going to work. We have used other gates as well. Hard to find one for stairway that has railing.
