My wife and I just moved into an apartment on the second floor with our son and 14 y/o female Pomeranian. We placed the turf out on our balcony, so that it might save us a few trips up and down the steps and it works every single time. Its as if she knew it was for her to potty on. My sister-in-laws dog visits and uses it as well!

This product was purchased for help with medical issues of my pet, a German shepherd mix, female 11 yrs. old. After a less than 2 year history of 2 urinary tract infections, then kidney stones, she developed bladder cancer this spring and is receiving palliative care. All of these have stressed her urinary system and continence. I would need to plan my day around not being away for more than 3-4 hours (am retired), and sometimes there would still be an "accident"; night time I would need to set the alarm for the same interval, and sometimes the alarm noise would trigger the urine release before I could get her outside ( condo, no fenced yard - recent). She would not use the piddle pads or any other pad/newspapers, etc. which I tried to devise - would pee beside the pad. I tried dog bloomers with pad inside: she managed to work the pad out of the bloomers, even if she could not remove the pant. And she hated it. Because of this I was skeptical that "fake grass" would work any better but decided to try.
What a RELIEF!! It is working like a charm and both dog and owner are much happier. I started by rubbing some of her urine into the grass pad. Because the tray holding the grass was too awkward for me to lift to carry and empty, I decided to try the piddle pads UNDER the grass. That is working well: it draws the urine into the pad, I change the pad, as needed. Then I hose down the grass pad (I have an alternate pad) in the drive way - could be done in a bathtub or laundry sink- dry over a small step stool and have a ready change. I do spray the tray with Lysol at least once/day to keep down any odor between removing soiled pads and grass and placing the clean items.
FYI: In the first week I had the Tinkle Turf and my dog in a gated room ( this may not have been necessary) to better help her to get the idea and not seek another spot. Then I let her have free access to the condo again, and she always returned to the Turf, seemed relieved that it was there. Perhaps not all dogs will take to this device as well, but for us it has been a wonderful find!

I purchased the tinkle turf for my maltipoo's outdoor kennel. Because she is so little the dog door leads into her kennel to protect from predators when she goes outside. She would not potty in there. I bought the tinkle turf and the attractant spray and she used the tinkle turf within 15 minutes and keeps using it! So pleased. Yes the attractant stinks but now my carpet won't.

I tried the pads first and my 9 year old pug refused to go on them.i have just moved into an apartment ,so no grass close by.When I got Astro turf all I had to do was collect a bit of her urine and put it on the turf and she took to it like a duck to water.I am now using the pads under the turf to collect the urine, much easier than emptying the tray.
