Aussie Life Jacket XXSmall/XSmall Size: XXSmall
The life jacket is made very well. My dog weighs 15 lbs and I had measured his girth so I ordered the XS which states it is for dogs weighing 7-15 lbs and girth 15"-19". I had measured my dog as 18" girth but this jacket was too small. In order to secure the jacket there is a Velcro that needs to be attached first underneath and then the straps go over that, but it was so small I couldn't get it closed enough to close the Velcro. The outside may measure 19" but the inside it only about 17" so it couldn't close around an 18" girth. I would be afraid the next size up would be too large, so guess I will have to just see about returning it. I actually got it because my dog who will soon turn 16 years old, has crippled legs and so he can barely walk so we have to carry him in and out to potty and from room to room so I had hoped this jacket would serve as a "handle" to pick him up as bending down to pick him up can get to me as it is a lot of up and downs during the day.

THIS PRODUCT IS GREAT!
This life vest is great for our two dogs when we kayak. The vests are not bulky or difficult for them to move around in on land like different styles we have bought in the past from other places. They can run in them. The vest holds them up in the water. I don't know what they would be like in rough water ( you may want to check out the other vest at Drs Foster and Smith that has a flotation piece u
under the chin).
They run a little on the small side but don't hesitate to order because they are great about returns for a different size/ type.
good price and quality

Great performance at an economical price!
We purchased two of these: one for a setter and the other for a beagle. Both worked great. The handles on the back are very handy to help picking the dog up out of the water onto our pontoon boat. Measure your dog carefully for sizing. We ended up getting a size too small for our setter. Bigger is better, particularly with bigger chested dogs. Bright orange is nice as well.

no expert on life jackets-
we have only used it in the water once for about 10 min. Finding a life jacket for our 10 lb Min Pin has been difficult- this is the best so far.
The band does cover his privates- but he doesn't seem to complain- will cut to fit. Price is nice, workmanship seems ok, reflective strip is on the top of the back- not terribly helpful unless the dog was under you.
It didn't seem to waterlog. It has some flotation in the belly band- but I wish more- or the main flotation a bit lower. For a small dog the two handles seem a little bulky and unnecessary- but I imagine in a large dog they could be a lifesaver. Each handle alone supported him well with the generous band. Nice flotation on the neck and really handy ring for a leash.
