ProCone Soft Recovery Collar Small
A must have
This soft cone made my dog's recovery much more comfortable.

good but needs to be tweeked
I liked the material of this cone. It is pliable and strong, sort of like a smooth canvas, but not like the usual plastic Elizabethan collars. The only 2 things I'd want others to know is - that it seemed to get hot under this collar for the dog and it didn't stand up and away from her face. It was a "lights out" situation when she wore it, as it flopped down on her face even with the velcro part that allows you to flip the front edge up. The dog slept better in it and found it much less obnoxious than the plastic ones which got stuck on the roof of the crate or the interior roof of the car while riding to & from the vets office. Perhaps if they could make it with stronger stakes inside it that would hold it off the face, it would work better.

The collar is great for preventing licking however, it is useless after I washing it. This shortfalls have out done the positives. After I washed it, it lost it's shape so it lay's on his head, he has learned if he rolls around in his bed that it bends and he can lick. I have to keep a very watchful eye on him. I think it should be made no bendable, I would rather take it off for him to eat. I'm sure this wouldn't work for dog that eat all day. My recommendation would be to not wash it but that could get a little smelly. I got two weeks use out of it :-(

Good features, but....
I SAY NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO A FRIEND WITH A CAVEAT: The collar was soft but I would only recommend it for dogs that had injuries you wanted to protect the animal from getting to that are located in the front part of the animal. My dog had an irritation in the rear leg (soft underside) area and could get to the area with no problems at all with this collar. The same with another collar I ordered from Drs Foster and Smith that was made of plastic. The collar just did not extend out far enough from the dog's face to prevent the dog from reaching the area any where near the beginning of the back leg area. I would not recommend this collar for rear area wounds, etc. It is just too short. This should be used for front area injuries only. It just does not extend out far enough from the dog's head.
