Dog preferred this one.
We tried two cones--this one and the "comfy cone." The latter wasn't so comfy for her and we ended up using this one all of the time. It allowed for flexibility--drinking water, running into/past things--all the things a dog requires. It prevented her from scratching her face and allowed her to see around her (somewhat) and sleep peacefully in a comfortable position due to its flexibility. It won't last forever how she treats it, but then again, she won't need it forever. I consider it the best option considering the choices.

More User Friendly
This collar is much less stiff than other collars I've used or seen. My dog is older and isn't very agile so this collar was enough to inhibit her ability to lick or chew or even to pull it off. A more athletic dog may be able to pull this enough to open the snaps but I'm not sure. It was much easier on the furniture than those hard collars that are like straight jackets. I'd give it 5 stars if I was certain the snaps would hold up.

Recommend with caveats
This collar is described as "gentle and pliable" and it is pliable. Think silicone. So while it is comfortable, it also is manipulable by the dog.
Pluses include clarity and lack of crashing/banging into things. This also means it's unlikely to split as some more rigid collars will. The snaps, while not appearing very robust, seem to stay attached.No promises if you have to pop them open frequently.
Minuses include the sizing. The biggest collar is only 8.5 inches deep. This collar depth for the neck size 15" - 18" is simply not deep enough...at least not for a pointy nosed breed like mine. This collar also has no tabs or holes for running gauze or a collar to keep the collar on. This was a surprising omission to me.
Because of the not-quite-adequate sizing and lack of tabs, I did not use this collar unattended. I did like it for night time with the dog sleeping next to me, and I also used it when transporting to the vet in a crate, because it was easier to get on after loading, and less likely to catch on the crate if the dog turned around.
I wanted to like this collar more than I did, but I will be keeping it in my toolbox for the next occasion I need to use one. That says something, at least, since most collars are completely trashed after use.
