Eliminate unsightly tear stains with this tear stain solution
*
Gentle solution also cleans saliva stains around the mouth
*
Regular treatment helps prevent recurrence of stains, too
Remove unsightly stains from the hair around your pet's eyes and mouth and help prevent them from returning. Tears and saliva can cause discoloration of the hair around the eyes and folds of the mouth. Show Eyes contains ingredients that chemically change stains, eliminating discolored streaks. Also contains soothing Aloe Vera and Vitamin E. Starts working immediately. Great for dogs on the show circuit. Show Eyes Solution may be applied to stained areas with a cotton ball. Show Eyes Pads are saturated with gentle solution and can be applied directly to the stained area. Do not use directly in the eye. If using near the eyes, place a sterile, protective ophthalmic ointment, like Puralube® Vet Ointment, into the eyes before use. Rinse with warm water immediately after using, to remove debris, oils and solution. Treat affected areas regularly to prevent reccurrence. For dogs only.

Preventing Infection
Preventing infection can be as easy as keeping your dog's eyes clean. Here are some steps to follow to prevent infections from happening.
Trim hair from around your pet's eyes using blunt-nosed scissors. Keeping hair from scraping on the eye will help prevent bacteria from getting into the eye.
By making sure the corners of your pet's eyes are mucus-free, you may be able to prevent infections. Bacteria often feed on mucus and can migrate into the eye. Using sterile veterinary eyewash such as Eye Clens® Eye Wash is a convenient way to do this.
Keep your pet from situations where he may get eye trauma. Fights with other animals, exposure to irritating substances, or letting your pet hang his head out of the car window are three preventable situations when your pet could receive eye trauma.
Tearstains are also an area that may become a hotbed for bacteria. Some dogs, such as Poodles, Cockers, and small terriers, may not have the proper mechanism for draining the tears out of the lacrimal gland (tear duct). The excess tears spill down the lower eyelid causing unsightly staining. Trimming hair around the eye, keeping the eye clean, and using tear stain remover can all help.
How long before I see a difference in my dog's tear stains?
A.
The amount of time that it takes for your dog's tear stains to disappear depends on the size and intensity of the stains. Most of our customers report seeing a great improvement in 2-5 days.
Do you have to rub the Show Eyes Remover excessively to remove the stains?
A.
No. Gently rub Show Eyes Remover over the stained areas to remove dirt and bacteria; excessive rubbing could damage the tissue around your dog's eyes. Consistent use is the best way to remove stains.
For tough stains we recommend using it 3 times a day for the first week to break up the stain. Once the stain has been broken up, you can safely use daily to keep the area stain free.
Apply Show Eyes to a cotton swab and swab the tear and/or saliva stained areas. Rub gently then immediately rinse with warm water to remove debris, oil, and excess solution. Show Eyes Pads are very easy to use and contain the exact amount of Show Eyes Solution that you need.
Should I place an ophthalmic ointment in the eye while cleaning with Show Eyes Remover?
A.
Yes. We recommend placing Protective Ophthalmic Ointment in your dog's eyes before using Show Eyes. It helps protect your dog's eyes from the solution. If you get Show Eyes in your dog's eyes you should gently rinse with warm water.
How do I prevent Show Eyes from getting into my dog's eyes?
A.
The first thing that you should do to help ensure that you do not get any Show Eyes Remover in your dog's eyes is to apply Protective Ophthalmic Ointment to your dog's eyes. It is also good to apply only as much Show Eyes Solution as you'll need to the cotton swab before cleaning your dog's eyes to ensure that the swab doesn't leak extra solution into your dog's eyes. Our Show Eyes Pads have premeasured solution soaked into them to help ensure that there won't be too much waste or run off when you use them. If you do get some solution into your dog's eyes, you should gently flush the affected eye with warm water.
What are the Show Eyes Pads made out of and do they have an odor?
A.
Show Eyes Pads are made of rayon and polyester and are treated with Drs. Foster & Smith Show Eyes for ease in application. They have a mild, clean scent.
There are steps you can take now to care for your pet's eyes so they aren't prone to infections and traumas later. One thing that is all-important is observing your pet's eyes, so you can catch any problem early and prevent it.
