Vetericyn Ophthalmic Gel is an innovative topical solution for the care of irritated eyes caused by bacteria, viruses, or fungi. Based on advanced hypochlorous technology, Vetericyn Plus Ophthalmic Gel is formulated at an appropriate pH level and will not burn or sting. This hydrogel is easy to use - simply place a stripe in eyes to soothe and clean them; no rinsing is required. Convenient squeeze bottle with nozzle lets you easily target the center of the eye. Safe for use around the mouth, nose, ears, and eyes. For dogs, cats, horses, birds, and small pets.
Use with Vetericyn Eye Wash, too.
Directions: Before application remove any excess matter from eye. Squeeze approximately a 1/2 inch stripe of Vetericyn® Ophthalmic Gel onto the lower lid of the affected eye one to two times daily. No rinsing required. Avoid contamination of the tip of the applicator when applying the gel. It may be administered topically alone, or as an adjunct to systemic therapy.

Chemistry of Vetericyn
The active-ingredient in all Vetericyn products is Hypochlorous acid (HOCl - also known as hydrogen hypochlorite)
. In some products, sodium hypochlorite is used in trace amounts as a preservative. The pH of Vetericyn is manufactured in the appropriate physiological range, unlike Dakin's Solution, a diluted bleach with sodium bicarbonate, which has a pH > 11 (neutral pH is 7 - below 7 is acidic, while above that is alkaline)
. At an appropriate physiological pH, diluted bleach is unstable and has limited efficacy as an antimicrobial. Laboratory tests show that in solution, Vetericyn is up to 70X more effective against bacterial than diluted bleach, yet is 100% nontoxic.
Ingredients: Active: Hypochlorous Acid (0.008%) Inactive: Electrolyzed Water (96.524%), Sodium Magnesium Fluorosilicate (3.000%), Sodium Phosphate (0.400%), Sodium Chloride (0.0066%), Sodium Hypochlorite (0.002%).
