Prozyme Plus Prozyme 3.5 oz (100 grams) w/FREE 15 ct Petivia
Prozyme is exactly what I was looking for.
Our Sheltie had gotten to be a little hefty so I went back to a diet we got from our vet many years ago for our first Sheltie. I remembered the diet recipe but didn't remember what the vitamin supplement was. For a daily diet, I mix 1 16oz. can of kitchen cut green beans, 1 16oz. can of cooked sliced carrots, 1/4 cup of cooked ground beef, 1/2 to 3/4 cup of 2% cottage cheese and about 1 1/2 teaspoons of Prozyme.
I split that all up and feed it to him 3 times a day. He loves it and is always excited when he knows it is feeding time. In the first 2 weeks he already lost 4 pounds and his energy level is very noticeably higher.
(However, anyone wanting to try this, don't be alarmed - his stool is now noticeably orange from all the carrots.)

Very helpful for my German Shepherd
Our German Shepherd suffers from EPI, a pancreatic insufficiency in dogs that occurs 7 out of 10 times in registered German Shepherds. She was virtually skin and bones, even with the pancreazyme given as ordered, and we had to watch her diet really carefully. She refuses to eat more than once a day, so getting her to take her medicine every 12 hours was a challenge. We found that giving her a heaping teaspoon of probiotics morning and night made all the difference. We give it in instant oatmeal made with less than half the liquid because as you stir it in, you will find that it starts the digestion process before your eyes, making the calories available to the dog. We use beef broth as the liquid so she likes it better. She now weighs a respectable 85 pounds, her fur is shiny and smooth and people tell us daily how beautiful she is. Our vet has asked our secret and we tell her Probiotics! They add that little bit extra that makes all the difference.

It seems to have helped a little
My GS dog has EPI.......everyday she has to have her food pretreated with EPI (porcine pancreas) powder before she can eat it, so it can break down the food to provide nutrients to her body. She has good poops and bad poops. So I thought I'd try this Prozyme as a supplement to the EPI powder. So far, she's been doing good with better poops than she'd been having.........so I hope it's helping. Time will tell. If -- when the bottle is almost empty -- we determine that she's done better with it than without it -- I'll buy another bottle.......but it has seemed so far to have helped her.
