No dental procedure
I started my Corgi on this toothpaste and the dental pads a few months after he had his first dental cleaning, which I wanted to totally avoid. I worked on his back molars, 20 seconds of brushing each, when I finally started seeing results.
He had his annual checkup at 3+ y/o, and got an excellent from the vet. We are thrilled with the results.

Works VERY well!
My wire fox terrier has a protein allergy and can't eat most tartar control pet treat products out there. Her teeth were thus a mess, and I was facing at $700+ vet bill to clean them. I started using this toothpaste just to see how far it would take the process. Low and behold - after only a month of use, I can literally scratch off heavily-caked tartar off Polly Jane's teeth. She loves the taste of this product so much that she doesn't mind using it with a battery-operated spinbrush!

Effective in removing stains from teeth
I usually use the regular enzymatic toothpaste but now that my dog is getting older his teeth develop plaque more quickly and stain more easily. I brushed my dog's teeth with his regular toothpaste but noticed they still didn't appear very clean so I tried the F&S Tartar Control toothpaste and noticed a significant difference. Most of the brown stains on his molars were removed and I didn't need to brush as aggressively. The consistency of the Tartar Control Paste is a little thicker making it slightly stiffer but it still stays on the toothbrush. The cellulose abrasive is of a fine texture not a coarse grit so it did not irritate the gums. My dog didn't seem to notice any difference--he really likes the poultry flavor of both. *Note: I use an old sonic electric toothbrush and our family's old toothbrush heads (after the 3mos recommended replacement period) to brush my dog's teeth. He doesn't mind and is actually more cooperative since I don't need to move the toothbrush head around much because the toothbrush head moves by itself. Except for the front teeth--the vibration tickles his nose & front lip more there. The sonic toothbrush is extremely effective and I only need to brush his teeth twice a week whereas before even if I brushed his teeth everyday with a manual brush his teeth never got clean. In eleven years he has only had to have his teeth cleaned by the vet twice! Now with the Tartar Control toothpaste I will not have to scrape his teeth with dental tools to remove stains which is better for his teeth since scraping can cause etching of the enamel and actually contribute to more plaque if not done correctly i.e. following the curvature of the tooth (very difficult to do on an unanesthetized animal). My only complaint is that they need to offer the F&S Tartar Control Toothpaste in the large tube size.

Works better than just enzyme products
My dog likes the taste of this toothpaste and it seems to really make a difference in the appearance of his teeth between professional cleanings.
