The "bark" collar works great & the battery appears to be long lasting as I haven't had to change the battery after 3 weeks of use. My rescued dog has learned that when the collar is on, excessive baking is not good altho when a rabbit or squirrel is in the yard she will somtimes ignore the warning. She is half beagle!

Citranella Bark Collar
The Citrinela Bark Collar works great. I bought one collar and rotated it on my three dogs when they would bark. Now all I have to say is "NO BARK" and they shut the barking down without even putting the collar on. It doesn't matter which dog gets the collar, they all three respond as if it was them who got the collar. I used it for a week and now all I need to do is give the command. They hate the collar...which is a good thing. It's a great teaching tool. I highly recommend it. As far as the extra batteries, I don't know. Haven't had to replace the first one yet.
