Electronic SmartDoor

Thanks to several design improvements, the SmartDoor is now more user-friendly and dog-safe than ever before. This electronic dog door works by radio frequency technology. Your pet wears a lightweight SmartKey on its collar, which communicates with the SmartDoor through a radio frequency. The key unlocks the door as the pet approaches and relocks it automatically as your pet enters or exits. The active range in which the key is recognized by the door is adjustable up to 3 feet. Now features a test mode so that owners can distinguish the active zone more easily; that is, the zone where the SmartKey will be recognized by the SmartDoor and where it will not.

SmartDoor offers your dog three levels of security - Automatic (unlimited entry through use of SmartKey), Always Unlocked, and Always Locked. SmartDoor now includes technology to prevent jams, lock-ins, or lock-outs; it's a safer choice for your dog. Requires 4 D-cell batteries (not included). Dog door is energy efficient, with weather resistant seal and insulated flap that won't jam. You can program (and un-program as needed) up to 5 SmartKeys on one SmartDoor. Fits standard doors from 1-1/2" to 2" thick. Lifetime limited warranty. Includes 1 SmartKey. White. Add up to 4 additional SmartKeys (sold separately).

Use the door flap as part of a game - throw a ball through for instance. As your dog responds to your encouraging calls, help him through the door, patting and congratulating him. Repeat the game several times, continually encouraging your dog with positive gestures and comments. Within a short time, your dog will be totally familiar with his pet door and use it happily on his own.
