Terrific product! My Bouvier puppy took only an hour or so to get used to the door. As with all the FosterSmith products I've purchased everything about the pet door was first rate. It luckily even fit exactly in the glass pane that was removed for its installation. November 23, 2012

What if my dog eats the flap?

My dog loves to eat odd things. She has worked on the lawn mower, various plastic containers, etc.. If I buy this & she eats the flap, can I buy a new flap? If I can, what does it cost?

on the Aluminum Pet Door listed in your catalogue under the code BBA-33342 can this be used in an Exterior Wall?? I want to place it in my Garage area so my Dog can come in from bad weather if needed when we are not home? My German Sheppard is over 100 pounds and muscular..

Thank you for your question. I'm sorry, but this door is not intended for use in an exterior wall, and currently we don't have in-wall doors that are designed for dogs over 100 lbs. The reason for a weight on dog doors is that if a dog that is larger than the specified weight is pushing through constantly, it may degrade the integrity of the product. I know you didn't ask that specifically, but I talked to our merchandising team to find out if you could perhaps use one of our in-wall doors for a 100 lb dog, or if the weight limit was a set limit and that was the answer they gave me when I asked.

Thank you for your question. Yes, this may be installed in an aluminum door. The main consideration is the thickness of the door. You will want to measure the thickness of your storm door. This pet door is about 2 inches thick, but it can be cut down to 3/8 of an inch thick.
