Excellent quality product I have purchased all sorts of pails to use on my farm, but these are the best ever! Very high quality, easy to clean, and durable. January 25, 2013

excellent for dog crate filled this pail with water and clipped it inside of the dog's crate with a double-ended snap. works very well. this is great use for med-large size dogs. the 2 qt. is what my 31lb dog is using and he doesn't finish all the water in a day. December 20, 2012

WONDERFUL ITEM!!! for years i used a plastic pale for my dogs water.....i read it was bad for them with repeated use as the plastic breaks down.....my new stainless steel pale is fantastic ! the dogs are loving it....i can see more water is being had....stainless steel water bowels/pales are a must have for any pet (dog/cat) owner.... What is the gauge of this stainless steel?

the inside of the pail is seamless. on the outside, there is a little cubical piece of metal that covers where the handle attaches to the pail on either side.

Since a "pail" is suppose to be utilitarian it should be substantial. I do not know the gauge but I would guess it is similar to that of a non-reinforced tin can.

The finish is not a chrome coating. It is highly polished stainless steel (like on stainless steel dog tags or cutlery). The finish seems very stain and scratch resistant. I've had mine several years and leave it outside and it looks pretty much the same as when I got it. It just sits on the deck so it doesn't get abused at all except for the elements.

A chrome coating is typically applied to a ferrous metals to prevent RUST. This is STAINLESS steel and does not corrode.

Will my basset's ears stay dry OUTSIDE the pail?!

Looking for a bowl where my basset hound's ears aren't dunking while she's drinking and I'm wondering if the pail is narrow enough to accommodate her head while her ears stay dry.
