Regular Thick Foam Crate Pad gives your dog extra comfort in his crate or cage. Made with 2" of orthopedic foam, these pads conform to your dog's body when he lies down - great for arthritic joints. Heavy poly/cotton twill cover is machine-washable. Pad also available with a waterproof, easy to wipe clean vinyl cover - great for puppies or incontinent pets. Vinyl comes in Black only. For twill covers, please specify pattern: Taupe Bailey's Paw, Blueberry Plaid Paws, or Stonewash Beige. Please Note: Personalization is not available for Black Vinyl.

To freshen and recharge the Scent-Lok, simply place the whole bed in the dryer on the lowest heat setting. Scent-Lok's activated carbon is housed within the liner that surrounds the foam pad, and the heating action refreshes it. However, since the liner fabric is made of 100% polypropylene, it is very sensitive to high heat (melting might occur), so be sure to use the lowest heat setting. Benefits of Foam: Solid foam beds and pads are comfortable for all dogs, but are especially recommended for large breeds and older canines, which often develop calluses over their elbows or hocks. These problems can be prevented with the use of foam.

While any dog will enjoy the comfort of orthopedic foam or "dome-style" beds and pads, they are especially recommended for dogs that are older, larger, have arthritis, hip dysplasia, elbow dysplasia, calluses, or any bone or joint problem. Dogs can get "bed sores" too, so dogs who are recovering from an illness or surgery and are going to spend a lot of time laying down would also benefit from orthopedic padding.

• A washable cover with a heavy-duty zipper
• Medical-grade solid orthopedic foam (looks like an egg carton)
• A firmness which will make it easier for your pet to stand up after laying down

Remember to place the beds, pads and crates away from drafts and colder areas, which may make your pet uncomfortable.
