EverShape Quilted Foam Orthopedic Dog Bed

A body-conforming memory foam topper gives this dog bed unmatched sleep comfort. EverShape Quilted Foam Dog Bed has a 1/2" layer of visco memory foam quilted into the cover. When your dog lies down, it gently conforms to his body shape while at the same time distributing body weight evenly to reduce pressure points. When your pet gets up, it returns to its original shape.

Underneath the memory foam cover, its firm core is constructed from 3" thick orthopedic foam to help support and elevate your pet, reducing pressure points even further and preventing pets from ever feeling the hard floor beneath them. The result is a lightweight dog bed that both yields to your pet's shape AND provides firm core support for up to 300 lbs! This bed is ideal for heavy dogs, aging pets with arthritis, or any dog that prefers firmer support and cushioning from hard floors.

Dog bed's 100% polyester cover boasts a soft berber topside quilted onto 1/2" visco memory foam. Sides and bottom are made from rich, long-wearing, stain and water-resistant microsuede. A hidden zipper in the bottom lets you remove the cover for machine washing. (Sorry, personalization not available for this bed.)

Remove pet hair from the EverShape Quilted Foam Dog Bed using a sticky tape roller or the hand attachment of your vacuum. Machine wash the cover only of this bed. When soiled, unzip the cover and remove from bed. Wash the cover in cool or lukewarm water with like colors, using gentle machine cycle and mild detergent. Line dry, or tumble dry on low heat. Remove from dryer promptly.

Benefits of memory foam

No other material works like memory foam to conform to the body and reduce pressure points. However, because memory foam is so soft, it is most effective when layered over a solid supportive material. This is precisely why you will find memory foam toppers that can be used directly on top of an existing mattress.

Memory foam cells tend to "deform" under pressure. Different from standard foams that compress and then spring back to their original shape, memory foam cells are open-celled, which means they have holes in them. Memory foam cells compress completely, spreading their air pressure to neighboring cells. This is precisely why memory foam distributes body weight evenly and reduces pressure points. This is also how the memory foam can truly conform to body shape. No other material has this property.

Memory foam is also temperature sensitive. At lower temperatures, it becomes harder or more viscous, and at higher temperatures it is softer and more elastic. This temperature sensitive quality is precisely the reason you feel like you are "melting" into the mattress when you lie down on memory foam.
