Very versatile!!
PROS: The matrix has many uses and shapes possible, especially with one of the runs added which is made by the same company. I took one leg off the matrix, made it three sided with the extra leg hooked onto the run, so it was an even longer run. The run is more flexible softer mesh than the matrix and you could even make it into a horse shoe shape tunnel with the matrix. The cat loves it inside or out. During the nice weather, the whole unit (matrix with one run) is easy enough to squeeze it out the slider door and put it on the patio without taking it apart. I put a big piece of carpeting in the run, so it is weighted and more stable. The matrix is flat and stable, but the rounded run (while ties and sand bag pockets are provided) could roll around, The matrix could be used in the car, or for fire evacuations and both matrix and run fold flat into their boxes for traveling. The top access hole is very handy.
CONS: While the cat tried chewing the mesh, I stopped him. The mesh appears to be sturdy and the sewed seams of yellow plastic stripping appear durable. The zippers could be loosened, so I put ties on them to secure them. I would never leave the cat unattended in it though. My only complain is the zippered panel ends which are removable, did not match all the matrix ends and when zipped, there was 1-2 inches of left over teeth on one side of the zipper. It appears the ends were mismatched .

aMAIZing
We've had the maize for a couple of weeks now and my 3 cats are enjoying the great outdoors on our deck. Each chooses a section to call dibs on (although the center seems to be the most popular). I put towels down in each section because they don't find the mesh screening very comfortable for sleeping (but they are fussy about such things). Before the maize, they would sit at the screen door and meow loudly when we were outside on the deck. Now they can come out to be part of the family. With all the zippered compartments it is easy to slip the cats in and out however I rigged it up so they can come and go from the house to the maize throughout the day. I did that because they kept scratching at the sliding door/window whenever they wanted to go out and then let me know when they wanted to go back in. No time for that. The next step is to get one of the 10 foot connectors for even more fun and more space for the 3 of them.
