Excellent product for hard to pill cats Even though I am a former vet tech, I have a cat who I absolutely cannot pill. I am very thankful for these pill pockets. She eats them like a treat. And I have to give my other kitty an empty one so he doesn't feel left out when she gets hers with her medication. I have recommended these to several friends and they really like them. Great Product I love the Greenies Pill Pockets, they take away the hassle of giving my cat her pills everyday. She never refuses her pills when I give them to her in the pill pockets. She get two pills in the morning and three in the evening. I highly recommend them. May 9, 2013

Makes Giving a Pill Super Easy! My cat must take a small pill twice a day for the rest of his life. If I had to administer the pill using a pill gun, it would make both of us miserable and I'm not sure I could even do it that often. So when I read the reviews for these pill pockets I decided to give them a try. My cat is almost 14 years old and is fairly finicky, but he loves them! He takes his pill with no problem twice a day. He'd probably like to take it more often just so he could enjoy these pill pockets! March 13, 2013

I don`t know how many but the cat doesn`t seem to care about the pill because he likes the Greenies. My other cat also has to have one and he does not take any meds.

Answer:

45 pockets in each package and the pill is put into the middle of the pocket. My cat considers it just another treat.

I think there are roughly 30+ pill pockets in a single pouch. The pill pocket is like a big soft treat with a hollow center. You put the pill in the hollow center then close the 'end' of the pill around the pill so it's not visible. If your cat is a food lover then it will eat the pill pocket (and pill) thinking it's a treat.

I didn't count them but my bag says approx. 45 (1.6 oz) my medicine was in capsule form so I pulled it apart and filled up the pocket area.

There were maybe 40 or more treats in each bag. The pocket covers the pill completely, but if your cat has to chew it it will find the pill inside and might not eat it. I feel it is worth the cost to at least try because some cats are picky and others not so much. I read a review somewhere where the person's cat ate the pills like they were treats. I personally think all pet medications should be disguised as food, but that's just my opinion.

My cats wouldn't touch these but yours may.

There are 40 pockets in the for cats.I use the cat ones for my small dog. I think the packs for dogs have 30, they are a little bigger. The cat ones will hold a 1/2 pill with no trouble. Apparently they are quite tasty as my dog had caught on to other methods of giving her meds.

I always have to zoom in to the picture of the bag to see how many pockets there are in each. Some things just aren't worth the effort it takes to remember them!
I think the "treat" of the Pill Pocket outweighs the flavor of the medication. I KNOW the cats and I are both MUCH happier without me having to grab them by the scruff of the neck and jam pills down their throats.

There are 40 - 45 pill pockets in a bag. The cat thinks it is a treat because it smells good. What you do is you seal both ends of the pill pocket so that none of the pill is sticking out. This way, he cannot smell it, and most likely he will never know he took a pill. If he doesn't want it, it helps to feed it to him when he's hungry or mix it in with other regular treats.

45 pill pockets are in the bag. My cat does not know there is a pill in it because the flavor of the treat over rides the taste of her medication. Actually, I put two medication in the pocket at one time.

My advice is to feed your cat the Pill Pocket when he/she is very hungry. My cat gobbled it up so fast that he didn't have a chance to detect the pill!

Thank you for your question. There are approximately 45 in the salmon and chicken flavor bags. The hypoallergenic has approximately 40 treats per bag. The scent and the flavor of the pill pocket covers up the scent and taste of the medication once you pinch the pill pocket shut, making it possible to administer the medication without your cat shying away from the smell of medication.
