QuickFinder Nail Clipper for Cats

Fear no more when it comes to trimming your cat's nails, thanks to the QuickFinder Nail Clipper. This award-winning pet clipper indicates when it's safe to begin clipping, using QuickSensor™ technology. It "reads" the nail to find live nerves and blood vessels, so you can avoid clipping there and prevent painful, bleeding cuts.

When QuickFinder senses the quick, it glows red, which means don't proceed. As you move away from the quick, it cautions yellow. A green light means it's safe to cut. QuickFinder is made from long-lasting stainless steel blades, plus it has an ergonomic handle that makes it easy to handle your pet with one hand and the QuickFinder with the other. Uses two button-cell batteries, included. Clipper measures 2.5" x 1.5" x 6.5" long.

How to Operate the QuickFinder

1. Before clipping, examine feet and nails for signs of injury. Feet and nails should be free of injury and dry before proceeding with nail clipping.
2. To power the clipper, slightly squeeze the handles together until the red light only is illuminated (continue to keep handles slightly squeezed together to keep power on). If all lights illuminate and remain on, there is insufficient power and the batteries must be replaced. If green light stays on, turn unit off by releasing the handles, wait two seconds for unit to reset, and restart power up phase again. Once red light stays illuminated unit has sufficient battery power and is ready for operation.
3. With unit powered up (red light on), insert nail into fixed blade hol from under side of clipper. Keep nail at a 90º angle and against sensor side of the fixed blade hole. Move cutting blades toward base of nail far enough that quick in the nail will be detected for the first time. The red light will flicker and remain on. This sets the sensor to the quick in the nail. Note that the nail should continually be on the sensor side of the hole during sensing for sensing to occur.
4. Maintaining power to unit, move cutting blades toward nail tip away from nail base. The yellow light may briefly illuminate as blade and sensor approaches nail without quick.
5. Continue moving cutting blades toward tip of nail until green light illuminates, indicating a safe cut. It is not safe to clip when yellow of red lights are on.
6. While maintaining position and 90º angle of clipper, squeeze handles together in firm, swift motion to avoid crushing nail. It is normal for green light to turn off at end of clipping action after blade has cut through nail.
7. If red light stays on, power off device and restart clipping process.
8. The QuickFinder will automatically turn off in open position (handles not depressed).

How to Replace Batteries

1. Requires two button-cell batteries (two are included with purchase).
2. Remove cover on battery compartment located in the upper handle by pulling back tab and lifting up.
3. Remove old batteries and dispose of properly.
4. Insert two button-cell batteries.
5. Replace cover securely.

Blade Care
Due to the high tech nature of this tool, replacement blades are unavailable. Even though the blade is made of the highest quality steel, the blade will dull over time. The blade cannot be sharpened. Replace entire unit when blade does not sufficiently clip.

Cautions: Do not disassemble QuickFinder. There are no adjustments or repairs that can be made. For external use only. Handle QuickFinder with extreme care. Do not put anything except a pet's nail into this tool. Store at room temperature away from heat and moisture. Store tool in the OFF position, out of reach of children and pets. Remove batteries during prolonged periods of non-use. Keep unit out of water and avoid static electricity.
