Floor-to-ceiling cat tree perfect for hiding, climbing, scratching, and playing. A full 8 ft high with a secure base. Enticing breakaway catnip toy encourages endless play.
The Deluxe Tree features two perches and an all-fleece, open crow's nest to snuggle in or on. Two heavy-duty sisal posts stay secure through years of clawing, and two carpeted scratching posts (one adjustable) offer climbing variety. Perches on the Deluxe Tree are 13" x 13". Post diameter is 4". Base measures 17" x 17". Fleece crow's nest measures 12-1/2" x 12-1/2".
Tree reaches to 8 ft. Extend this tree to fit 9 ft ceilings - choose a regular extension, sold separately. Assembly required.

Assembly Instructions for the Deluxe Cat Tree
Take the 22" sisal post and remove the 4" bolt and washer from the bottom. Take the base and insert the 4" bolt with washer up through the bottom of the base into the 22" post. Thread until tight.
Take the 13" x 13" platform and slide it over the long bolt of the 22" sisal post. Take the 18" post and slide it over the same bolt and thread until tight.
Place the 13" x 13" platform over exposed bolt and thread 15" sisal post onto bolt. Turn until tight.
Thread Crow's Nest onto short exposed bolt and tighten.
Remove 4" bolt and washer from bottom of plunger unit, insert it through top of Crow's Nest into bottom of plunger unit and tighten.
Insert plunger into hole on top of plunger unit. Your cat tree is now ready to be positioned to the ceiling. The plunger unit in the top post retracts approximately six inches on the spring assembly when pressure is applied. Place the tip of the plunger against the ceiling where you plan to locate the tree and apply pressure to the plunger to retract the spring. Set the base directly under where the plunger meets the ceiling. Check to make sure your tree is vertically straight and stable in this position. Attach breakaway mouse according to directions included with mouse.
Check all pieces for tightness and re-tighten after a few days of use. Optional extension is available for taller ceilings (Item #10027).
Cleaning Your Cat Tree
Vacuum hair off the perches and from the hideouts when necessary. Vacuum or brush the sisal. Do not use water or cleaners on the sisal. When the carpeted areas become soiled, we recommend a pet-formulated stain and odor remover such as OdorLogic™ CleanAway. Simply spray the entire spot, and allow CleanAway's enzyme action to begin breaking up the stain immediately while bacteria-producing agents work to digest the stain until it is completely gone.
On a regular basis, re-tighten all connections to make sure the tree remains sturdy and safe.
How safe are the cat trees if placed in center of a room instead of a corner?

The cat trees can be placed anywhere in your home that you want. The safety is not compromised as long as the cat tree is properly installed and checked at regular intervals for tightness.
What if my ceiling is vaulted or too high? What can I do?
A.
The Drs. Foster & Smith Cat Trees fit an 8-foot ceiling. An optional Cat Tree Extension will extend your cat tree another 12 inches. We do not recommend using more than one cat tree extension since it may make your cat tree less stable. Also, the cat tree extension is not for use on the Super Deluxe Tree. If you have a vaulted ceiling or a ceiling that is taller than 9 feet, we carry a wide variety of treehouses, penthouses, and other cat furniture that are totally free-standing for your cat to enjoy.
We do not recommend that you use the Drs. Foster & Smith Cat Trees outdoors. Over time, they will not hold up to prolonged exposure to the elements (especially rain). However, if you have a covered enclosure which will accommodate the cat tree so it is stable and moisture-free, you may place a cat tree there.
How sturdy are these trees if more than one cat uses it at the same time?

The Drs. Foster & Smith Cat Trees are among the sturdiest cat trees on the market, and can hold up to even the most rambunctious of cat(s). They will remain steady with more than one cat on them, as long as the combined weight of the cats is evenly distributed and under the weight limit for the model that you own. You will also want to make sure that the cat tree is tightly secured between the floor and ceiling.
If your cat tree is wobbly, we recommend that you recheck the tightness of the screws. Make sure that they are as tight as possible. Also check that your cat tree is secure between floor and ceiling, and make periodic adjustments as needed.
