Drinkwell Pet Fountain

Cats like nothing better than clean, fresh water. But even when they have plenty of water available, some cats do not drink enough for good health. They are simply finicky about tepid, standing water in their bowl.

To make sure your cat drinks all of the water she needs, get her the Drinkwell Pet Fountain. This well-made fountain delivers a continuous, trickling flow of filtered water to the delight of your cat. And, it helps eliminate the jumping up onto counters in search of a dripping faucet. Its 5" falling stream continually aerates the water, ensuring more healthful oxygen with your cat's every drink. Runs so quietly, all you will hear is the sound of running water; it is quieter than most faucets when they are left running.

Drinkwell is especially beneficial for cats with kidney or urinary tract disease. These cats have a critical need for water to support kidney function or prevent crystal formation and obstruction.

Just fill the fountain with water, place it in desired location, plug it in, and adjust the flow rate knob to suit her preference. Filters are reusable (for up to two to four weeks). Just rinse and replace. Charcoal filters remove bad tastes and odors, for fresher water your pet will want to drink.

Tips on use: When being introduced to the Drinkwell Pet Fountain, your cat will probably have the good sense to be cautious of this new and unusual object. After beginning operation of the fountain, just let your cat adjust at his or her own pace. Some cats take several days or longer to begin use. Ice cubes can be added to the bowl for refreshing ice-cold running water.

Operation: Fill with water and plug unit in to begin continuous recirculation. Add water to the bowl as needed. Water first falls onto a ramp in the bowl, which reduces the noise and splash of falling water. Yet the flowing action still breaks the surface tension of the bowl water to draw in oxygen from the air and aerate the water. Aerated water tastes fresher. You can see it working by the tiny bubbles it creates.

Note: Do NOT run dry.

Directions for Aqua Garden: Simply unhook the Aqua Garden basket from the rim of the Drinkwell. Turn it over and gently squeeze the two clips together and push out the old seed pod from underneath. Discard old pod and rinse off the basket and new seed pod. Gently snap the new seed pod in place and replace the Aqua Garden on the rim of the Drinkwell. There is no messy soil to deal with and the grass begins to grow out of the pod within 3-4 days reaching a mature height at 7-9 days. Growth can vary due to environment.
