Will this train a cat not to get in a baby crib?

I'm having my first baby in July and my cat refuses to stay out of the crib. I've tried Scat in the door way but she has learned how to avoid the sensor so it won't spray her. (clever girl). I was thinking about trying the mat so if she does get past the spray and jumps in the crib she will land on the mat instead of the mattress. Do you think this will work?

Yes, I do think this mat will work. Like you said (clever girl), cats are super smart. I put a couple of these mats on my sofa and it took only one time of jumping onto them to do the trick. Now all four of my cats completely avoid the sofa!!!

I do think it will work for you. When she jumps into the crib she will land hard on the mat and won't like the feeling on her paws.

Well of course I would take the mat out after the baby comes lol. I have until the end of July to break the cat from jumping into the crib.

Thank you for your question. Yes, this would be an effective tool to train the cat not to jump into the crib. This would of course have to be discontinued when the baby is there though, as anything that comes into contact with the mat will receive the static stimulation.

These mats have worked very well in a corner by our TV where one of our cats kept urinating. The area was too small for any of the shock pads so I gave these a try and they actually have worked. The effectiveness of the mats probably depend upon the weight and the sensitivity of the cat/cats you want to deter.

I doubt it. I got the mat and my kitten doesn't care a bit about the pokey parts. I imagine a warm car hood would be even more tempting! Just think of the little kitty footprints as hood decor.
