Self-contained pet watering system continuously recycles water
Give your dog the constant supply of fresh water she wants with the Drinkwell Pet Fountain watering system. Replace the stale bowl water that no pet enjoys with the Drinkwell Pet Fountain’s patented system that filters moving water to keep it fresher than standing bowl water. Its 5" waterfall also aerates the water better, to deliver more healthful oxygen to your pet with every drink.
The Drinkwell Pet Fountain is veterinarian-designed and recommended to encourage water intake for healthier dogs. This waterer is especially beneficial for pets with kidney or urinary tract disease. A fresh water supply helps support kidney function and can prevent crystal formation and obstruction in pets.
Simply fill fountain with water, place on a flat, even surface, and plug in. Water pouring into basin recycles back through filter and aerates continually. Filters are reusable (for up to two to four weeks). Just rinse and replace. Charcoal filters remove bad tastes and odors to give your pet the freshest, best-tasting water possible. Fountain offers a variable flow rate and quiet operation - quieter than most running faucets.
Large Fountain System is one unit. Reservoir of Large Fountain System holds 1 gallon of water and entire unit has a 2 gallon capacity.
Regular Fountain, for small dogs and cats, holds 50 ounces of water. Optional 50 or 70 ounce reservoir attaches to Regular Fountain to provide a larger water supply.
Regular System includes pet fountain and attachable 50 or 70 ounce reservoir. 3-pack of replacement filters also available.
Drinkwell fountains should be cleaned regularly to keep the fountain running smoothly and to ensure your pet has the freshest water possible. Keep your fountain clean with the Drinkwell Cleaning Kit. Kit comes with three brushes to thoroughly scrub those hard-to-reach areas. Brushes include a 12" Fountain Brush, a 12" Intake Tube Brush, and a 6" Motor Brush. Perfect for cleaning Drinkwell or any other feeder or fountain. Clean fountain and the inside of the cavity of the motor with soapy water about every two weeks. Always unplug fountain before cleaning.
Replacement Filters - Help keep water clean and fresh. Filters should be changed every two to four weeks.

Tips on use: When being introduced to the Drinkwell Pet Fountain, your pet will probably have the good sense to be cautious of this new and unusual object. After beginning operation of the fountain, just let your pet adjust at his or her own pace. Some pets take several days or longer to begin use. Ice cubes can be added to the bowl for refreshing ice-cold running water.
Operation: Fill with water and plug unit in to begin continuous recirculation. Add water to the bowl as needed. Water first falls onto a ramp in the bowl, which reduces the noise and splash of falling water. Yet the flowing action still breaks the surface tension of the bowl water to draw in oxygen from the air and aerate the water. Aerated water tastes fresher. You can see it working by the tiny bubbles it creates.
Note: Do NOT allow unit to run dry.
Note: Do NOT place reservoir in dishwasher.

The Drinkwell Pet Fountain is wonderful! I have 2 collies and now that their water is always fresh they are drinking more and their coats have improved tremendously for it. They love it and I love the way their coats feel and brush now! I definitely recommend it for all breeds!
It's not a bad product at all, certainly better than just standing water in a bowl. At first, both my dog and cats were scared of it, but they adjusted pretty quickly and they certainly do drink more water now then they did. I have two of them in the room I sleep in and I'm able to sleep fine with the little noise it makes. I would recommend this if you're looking for a small waterbowl for two or three pets.
I have two of these fountains. Our three cats and the dog use them. I'm buying a larger one to replace one of the smaller ones that I originally bought. They are very easy to clean and can be disassembled easily for cleaning without using any tools. Replacing the filter is quick and easy.
It’s amazing how just a little stream of water can fascinate pets so much. It really does make them drink more water. Even though at first they just sort of stared at it, not sure what to think of their new water bowl replacement. But it didn’t take them long to dive in and start lapping it right up.
I purchased a small fountain with the extra reservoir years ago. My animals (both cats and dogs) absolutely loved it. My cat and sheltie both drink from the running stream and my cat actually plays in the water. We purchased the large dog fountain recently because our lab was always making such a mess since she is such a sloppy drinker. I absolutely love it. It keeps more water in the bowl and not on the floor, I don't have to fill it as often and the small pets love it too. I would highly recommend this product!
Great product! My new pom was drinking scarcely and her stools were hard. I got her this fountain and she drinks drinks drinks now! I am so happy with this product. A+++ buy it, you won't regret it.
My little poodle Buddy, wasn't drinking very well ,and that concerned me. I read an article in your catalog about bacteria in standing water. I ordered a pet fountain and I am so glad I did! Buddy is drinking so much better, he drinks it right from the falls. He loves it, and so do I. THANKS!
I bought the large model with the 2 gallon capacity and love it. I have two Labs and ensuring they have water can be a challenge because they think it is fun to "bail" the water out of the bowl. That's fine in warm weather when I use an outdoor waterer hooked to a hose spigot, but it's a real pain when they do this in the house. When I ordered this waterer, I really thought I was wasting my money, but I was pleasantly surprised. They are actually drinking the water instead of playing with it! It's low maintenance, and I feel the water they are getting is better for them. I plan to use it year round.
We have used Drinkwell products since we got our dogs and the large dog one is what we use for our two dogs. They love drinking out of it and there is more than enough water in the tank so we don't have to keep filling it up every day. We purchase our filters often and keep those changed because that makes a huge difference. I wouldn't dream of having our dogs drink out of a bowl on a daily basis again. Get this, you won't regret it.
I had bought my cats the smaller one from Foster & Smith and my German Shepherd constantly emptied the waterer so I went ahead and bought this larger one with the largest reservoir and both cats and my Shepherd drink from it. I gave the smaller one to my ferrets. Now all my animals will drink and drink and really appear to enjoy the fountain and fresh water.
Veterinarians often use a 9 point scoring system to evaluate the body condition of pets. A point value of 1 means the dog is extremely thin to the point of emaciation. A score of 9 means the pet is grossly overweight.
