Famotidine may also be prescribed for inflammation of the stomach or esophagus, and for reflux.

Who is it for?
Famotidine is for dogs and cats.

What are the benefits?

* Treats or helps manage digestive disorders such as gastric or duodenal ulcers

How does Famotidine work?
Famotidine blocks the action of histamine in the stomach. Histamine is a chemical released by the body that, in the stomach, causes more acid to be produced. By blocking histamine in the stomach, Famotidine reduces the amount of acid produced.
