What should I discuss with my veterinarian while considering Pyoben® Gel for my pet?
Talk to your veterinarian about what type of outcome is expected. Have your veterinarian explain the other treatment options that may be available to treat your pet's condition.
Notify your veterinarian of any other medications or supplements your pet is taking. Also if your pet has had any reactions to previous medications.
What should I do if I miss a dose?
If you miss a dose, give it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the one you missed and go back to the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.
Who should not take it?
Not for use in patients hypersensitive (allergic) to it or to similar products.
May bleach colored fabrics, clothing or carpet.
For external use only. Avoid contact with the eyes or mucus membranes.
If condition persists or does not improve in 7 days, consult your veterinarian.
Wash hands after use. Contact dermatitis (skin inflammation after contact with the product) has occurred in humans.
Consult with your veterinarian regarding the physical examinations and laboratory testing necessary prior to and during treatment with benzoyl peroxide gel.
What side effects may be seen when taking Pyoben® Gel?
None if used according to directions.
If skin irritation develops or increases, discontinue use and contact your veterinarian.
How is it stored?
Store in a tight, light resistant, childproof container at room temperature. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
What should I do if I know of or suspect there has been an overdose?
Adverse reactions and toxicities are unlikely.
If you know or suspect your pet has had an overdose, or if you observe any unusual signs, symptoms, or behaviors in your pet, contact your veterinarian immediately.
Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.
What should I avoid when giving my pet Pyoben® Gel?
Consult with your veterinarian before using benzoyl peroxide gel with any other medications, including vitamins and supplements, since interactions may occur.
