Feliway Spray quickly puts an end to stress-related behavior like urine marking and inappropriate scratching. Use Feliway Spray to treat surfaces your pet has already marked, as well as prominent objects that could be future targets. It also helps comfort your cat in new or stressful environments such as the veterinarian's office, a new home (or home with multiple cats), while traveling or boarding, and when introducing new cats to your home. Feliway uses calming, analogue pheromones (structurally similar to feline facial pheromones) to reduce instinctive urges to mark and scratch. Pheromones are naturally secreted when cats rub objects with the side of their face. These pheromones are later recognized by the cat and produce feelings of familiarity and comfort. Feliway spray entices your cat to rub his face on treated objects, depositing his own facial pheromones on the object so that it becomes a place he is unlikely to urine mark. Scientific studies confirm Feliway's effectiveness in mimicking the results of facial pheromone marking. Clean the area your pet has sprayed thoroughly before using Feliway. Spray Feliway on furniture, doors, walls, or any surface where urine marking or scratching is a problem. Spray target area once daily for at least 30 days, but DO NOT spray directly on your pet. Feliway will not stain most surfaces, but you should always test an inconspicuous area of the spot you wish to treat before treating the entire area. Feliway works for cats only, and is odorless to humans. Feliway Wipes are single use, disposable 5.5" x 5.5" wipes saturated with Feliway solution. Great for travel. Use the Feliway Comfort Zone diffuser for room-wide spray prevention (up to 650 sq ft). Please click on "More Information" for ingredients and instructions. |

| Q. | What makes Feliway work? |
|---|---|
| A. | The ingredient in Feliway that makes it work is an analogue (structurally similar) of feline facial pheromones. Pheromones are naturally secreted substances; which help animals of the same species communicate with each other. This ingredient will entice the cat to rub the treated object with its face, depositing its own facial pheromones on the object. Among other things, facial pheromones will usually inhibit urinary marking when applied to a specific area.
|
| Q. | How often do I need to spray the area that my cat is spraying? |
|---|---|
| A. | You need to treat areas that your cat is spraying, as well as prominent objects, with Feliway once daily until you observe your cat rubbing his face on the treated objects, depositing his own facial pheromones to the area. Once you observe your cat rubbing the area, maintain the area by treating it once weekly.
|
| Q. | In a home with many cats, will Feliway stop all of them from spraying? |
|---|---|
| A. | If used properly, Feliway should control the spraying in a multi-cat household. You should apply Feliway 2-3 times daily to marked spots, and once daily on prominent objects in your home that may attract your cat to spray on them. Doing this should control spraying in your multi-cat household.
|
| Q. | Should I clean the area to be sprayed before I apply Feliway? |
|---|---|
| A. | The area should be cleaned with water and a very mild soap before applying Feliway. It is essential that you not use a cleaning agent or disinfectant on the area because this may decrease the effectiveness of Feliway.
|
| Q. | Some of my cats pick on my other cat; can I spray Feliway on the cat that is being harassed? |
|---|---|
| A. | Feliway is to be applied on objects in your home that your cat is or may spray on, and should not be sprayed on any animal.
|
| Q. | Will Feliway stain my furniture or carpet if I spray it on it? |
|---|---|
| A. | Feliway will not stain most surfaces, but you should always test the area you are planning to use it on in an inconspicuous spot before treating the whole area.
|
| Q. | Will this remove the smell from my cat’s spray, or just stop it from spraying there in the future? |
|---|---|
| A. | Feliway is not a deodorant, and will not remove the urine smell left after your cat sprays an area. When used correctly, however, it may help control the spraying.
|
| Q. | Can I use Feliway to stop my dog from scent marking? |
|---|---|
| A. | Feliway is manufactured for cats only, because it is made with an analogue of cat facial pheromones. It will not work for dogs.

Not only did Feliway ease my male cat's anxiety so he would stop going on the carpet when I was away, it even stopped both cats from scratching the furniture. By using Feliway on the sofa and chair and providing a good solid scratching post, I was able to stop my cats from destroying furniture. I'm only sorry that it took me 10 years (and much destroyed furniture) to figure this out. This is a GREAT product. |

My 9-year-old cat began marking 5 years ago when I returned to work after having been home for 5 months finishing up my thesis. He continued to do so, even though we tried several methods to ease his anxiety. Last summer, we purchased Feliway and, after a month of continued use, we were able to replace the carpet. We now use it in advance of anything we believe may cause him anxiety and it continues to work! |

I volunteer at our humane society, caring for the feline guests under direction of the veterinarian technicians. Feliway is used extensively when new arrivals come into the shelter that are either very apprehensive or belligerent (hiss/growl). A few sprays of Feliway on their blanket calms them down within minutes. They can then be handled for medication dispensing, cleaning eyes, etc., with a lot less combativeness on the part of the cat!! It is a wonderful product. |

We have six cats and a couple with a spraying problem. New furniture and being away on vacation was going to be a big challenge. I found Feliway in your catalog and gave it a try. It really works! Thanks! |

We have a beloved cat named Mr. Mickey who started to spray in response to perceived threats from cats outside our house. Our veterinarian referred us to a behavioral therapist when conventional treatments failed. The therapist prescribed a wide range of treatments including Feliway. Now, two years later we find we can discontinue most of the other treatments but we must continue with Feliway as a deterrent to his spraying. |

Although we didn't MEAN to have kittens, we now have 3 given to us by a stray mother when they were 4 weeks old. They are now adorable 12 week old hell-purrs. We are consultants living in a corporate apartment with rented furniture and were starting to stress out. They have been great about using the cardboard scratching posts we got, but only AFTER they do their initial scratch on the rented furniture. We tried two other organic all-natural "anti-scratch" products we got from two different local pet supply stores, to no avail. We just got Feliway from this website and it was immediately effective!. No scratching where we sprayed it (on the furniture places they were scratching). As an added benefit, although they were already very affectionate, after the first sniff, they have been a lot calmer in general - BIG purrs and coming up (to and on us) for even more rubs, lap kittens! It almost worried me because suddenly they weren't the total kitten warriors we had gotten used to. We had previously used Feliway to help fly Lucifer (a 13-year-old cat friend) from California to Tennessee when the person he owns, an 89-year-old friend, moved into a retirement community and to help Lucifer adjust from outdoor to indoor cat. Highly recommended as worth a try for anyone with distressed or furniture-scratching cats or older kittens. |
