Cats like nothing better than clean, fresh water. But even when they have plenty of water available, some cats do not drink enough for good health. They are simply finicky about tepid, standing water in their bowl. To make sure your cat drinks all of the water she needs, get her the Drinkwell Pet Fountain. This well-made fountain delivers a continuous, trickling flow of filtered water to the delight of your cat. And, it helps eliminate the jumping up onto counters in search of a dripping faucet. Its 5" falling stream continually aerates the water, ensuring more healthful oxygen with your cat's every drink. Runs so quietly, all you will hear is the sound of running water; it is quieter than most faucets when they are left running. Drinkwell is especially beneficial for cats with kidney or urinary tract disease. These cats have a critical need for water to support kidney function or prevent crystal formation and obstruction. Just fill the fountain with water, place it in desired location, plug it in, and adjust the flow rate knob to suit her preference. Filters are reusable (for up to two to four weeks). Just rinse and replace. Charcoal filters remove bad tastes and odors, for fresher water your pet will want to drink. The base fountain holds six cups of water. With the optional 50 oz Reservoir Attachment, the capacity doubles to 12 cups, plenty of water for any cat and her mates, and an added measure of comfort for home-alone pets. Get even more capacity when you choose the 70 oz Reservoir Attachment.
Drinkwell Fountains should be cleaned regularly to keep the fountain running smoothly and to ensure your pet has the freshest water possible. Keep your fountain clean

Tips on use: When being introduced to the Drinkwell Pet Fountain, your cat will probably have the good sense to be cautious of this new and unusual object. After beginning operation of the fountain, just let your cat adjust at his or her own pace. Some cats take several days or longer to begin use. Ice cubes can be added to the bowl for refreshing ice-cold running water. Operation: Fill with water and plug unit in to begin continuous recirculation. Add water to the bowl as needed. Water first falls onto a ramp in the bowl, which reduces the noise and splash of falling water. Yet the flowing action still breaks the surface tension of the bowl water to draw in oxygen from the air and aerate the water. Aerated water tastes fresher. You can see it working by the tiny bubbles it creates. Note: Do NOT run dry. Directions for Aqua Garden: Simply unhook the Aqua Garden basket from the rim of the Drinkwell. Turn it over and gently squeeze the two clips together and push out the old seed pod from underneath. Discard old pod and rinse off the basket and new seed pod. Gently snap the new seed pod in place and replace the Aqua Garden on the rim of the Drinkwell. There is no messy soil to deal with and the grass begins to grow out of the pod within 3-4 days reaching a mature height at 7-9 days. Growth can vary due to environment. |

| Q. |
|---|
| Q. | Is the Drinkwell Pet Fountain noisy? |
|---|---|
| A. | No, one of the great features about the Drinkwell Pet Fountain is its quietness. In fact, the only sound your pet will hear is running water. It is quieter than most faucets when they are left running.
|
| Q. | Does the filter remove food particles from the water? |
|---|---|
| A. | The filter removes tastes and odors from the water, but it does not remove food particles. The opening that pulls the water into the filter chamber has a grate over it to prevent food particles from blocking it. If your cat tends to leave food particles in the water, you must clean the bowl more often.
|
| Q. | Does the Drinkwell Pet Fountain keep the water cold? |
|---|---|
| A. | The fountain does not keep the water cold. If you want to offer your cat some refreshing cold water, just throw a few ice cubes into the bowl and the water will be cooled as it is circulated.
|
| Q. | Do I have to use the filters and water reservoir with the Drinkwell Pet Fountain? |
|---|---|
| A. | It is not necessary to use the filters or the water reservoir with the Drinkwell Pet Fountain. The filters will remove odors and tastes out of tap water, and the water reservoir will give you an additional 6 cups of water to be sure that your pet has enough. This is especially important if you have multiple cats, are going to be away for a weekend, or if the weather is very hot and humid; when your pet may be drinking more water.
|
| Q. | How often does the filter need to be changed? |
|---|---|
| A. | The manufacturer suggests that you change the filters every 6-8 weeks. It also recommends that you rinse the filter out with water (do not use soap) each time that you clean the fountain.
|
| Q. | I have dogs, would the fountain be a good choice as an automatic waterer for my dogs? |
|---|---|
| A. | The Drinkwell Pet Fountain can be used for small dogs, but is not recommended for medium size dogs or larger. A larger dog could tip over the fountain, or drink it dry, causing the motor to run dry and damage it. If you are using it for your cat and you also have a larger dog (or small children), it is recommended that you place the fountain up where only the cat can reach it.
|
| Q. | How often do I need to change the water in the fountain? |
|---|---|
| A. | You should clean the bowl and add fresh water the same as you would with a regular bowl. If the fountain is not cleaned on a regular basis it could cause damage to the motor.
|
| Q. | If my pet drinks all the water while I’m away, will it hurt the fountain? |
|---|---|
| A. | Yes, you should never allow the fountain to run 'dry'. If it is left on without water in it, it will damage and possibly break the motor.

My cat was sick, and the vet bills were huge. They had to give her IV fluids, and they wanted me to monitor her water consumption when she came home. It seemed like she was drinking literally nothing, and the vet instructed me to force her to drink from a dropper. I bought the Drinkwell Fountain because I was willing to try anything, and after 2 days of staring at it, she fell in love with it! She drinks all the time, at least 3 times what she used to from a bowl, and is a happy cat with a new lease on life. The best pet product ever! |

One of my cats would not drink enough water so he always had bladder infections. He eventually had a blockage and almost died. I wanted to try everything to get him to drink more. It took a few days for him to get use to it but once he took to it, he loves it! I only have to clean it about once a month and the filters are long lasting so it is essentially mainitance free! I am so glad I bought this. |

What a great product. Dixie took to it almost immediately. I have noticed her fur looks better and she is happier than ever. She drinks a lot of water now, and doesn't run to get a drink everytime I turn on a faucet. Every pet needs one of these. |

I recently ordered this for my two cats. Our 5-1/2 year old will not drink still water (she never has) and our 10 month old is picking up on that habit. At first they would cry for running water from the faucet, but now I'm changing the water in the 75 oz reservoir at least once a week. This product is AWESOME! |

My cats are crazy about this new water fountain. I set it up today and they did not hesitate to start drinking out of it. I'm hoping that this fountain will cut down on the cats racing each other to the bathroom sink when it is turned on! I expect that this product will be well worth the money. |

My two cats were fascinated when I plopped this down before them. I've had it now for about a month and they love it. I notice that they drink more water and enjoy watching the waterfall. I love the fact that you don't have to change the water everyday. But the extra tank to store water is worth it. This was a great buy. I highly recommend this product! |

Absolutely the best!! I've had mine for about a year now and it still works great. Cats are more receptive to drinking when they hear it flowing and can see the stream. You will definitely notice your cat drinking much more water with this fountain. As a result, the reservoir is a must. Definitely recommended for all cat lovers. |

My cat, Buddy, loves this fountain! He use to use our bathroom sink until we remodeled , and he can't now due to the sink being smaller. Now we're both happy and I add ice to the jug as he likes it cold. This is a great investment. |

My cat loves the Drinkwell Pet Fountain. He is fussy about his water being fresh and cold. Now he does not have to meow at me all day long to change his water bowl. In the morning, I throw a few ice cubes in the fountain and he is a HAPPY kitty. |

The Drinkwell Pet Fountain was the best investment I have made for my cat. Bogey was seriously dehydrated from an upper respiratory infection when I adopted him from the Humane Society. His water consumption doubled overnight after I got the fountain. It's truly a lifesaver and your pet will love it. |

My cats absolutely love the Drinkwell Pet Fountain. I had searched every pet store/chain in Phoenix for a pet fountain without success and was delighted when I spotted it in your catalog. A note to potential buyers, cats seem to drink more with this product so I would recommend purchasing the reservoir attachment as well. |

I have two cats (Keesha and Tiger) that tended to mostly ignore their water dish as the dust collected on it. I worried that they weren't getting enough water in their diet. So I bought them a Drinkwell Pet Fountain. They sniffed it and stared at it for a few days. Then first one, and then the other started drinking from it! Now, weeks later, they both love it! They can drink fresh water 24 hours a day. The pet fountain is very easy to take apart to clean. Keesha, Tiger and I are thoroughly happy with this purchase. |

I just had to write and tell you what a difference one of your products has made in my life and the lives of my two cats! Two weeks ago, I purchased a Drinkwell Pet Fountain from your online store. A friend recommended the fountain to me a year ago when my Russian Blue began having frequent urinary tract infections. Sylvin was going through so much pain, and my veterinarian bills were costing me a fortune! I tried everything, from changing his diet to cortisone shots, and nothing worked! One day, I caught him drinking from a dripping faucet, where I noticed that he sat for hours and lapped at the fresh water. I suddenly realized he wasn't drinking the water from his dish because it wasn't fresh enough. My friend told me about your fountain. It was worth every penny and then some! Not five minutes out of the box and both Sylvin and Dragon were drinking merrily from the fountain! They are thrilled! I soon discovered that the optional reserve tank is an absolute necessity, since they were drinking from the fountain so much that I had to fill it every single day! No more pain, no more costly veterinarian bills. Thank you from the bottom of our water bowl! |

Yeta loves his Drinkwell Pet Fountain and so does his owner. Yeta was drinking out of everything except his water bowl (including the commode). He especially loved drinking right out of the faucet. Yeta now has his own Drinkwell Pet Fountain in our bathroom and he joins us in the morning to drink from his own "faucet". Yeta's owners are happy as they are not wasting water to keep Yeta entertained. Thanks. |

I can't imagine not having a pet fountain in our home. Our 13 year-old Spike has always been fussy about his water being cold and fresh, and he used to love drinking right out of the faucet any time he got a chance. A few years ago he developed kidney problems and the vet recommended finding a way to keep him well hydrated. The Pet Fountain was exactly what we needed! He's happy drinking and playing in the running water, and I'm happy he's healthy. I'd recommend this product to any cat owner. |

I purchased my fountain in hopes of getting my cats to cease their desire to only drink from the faucets. My 2 older cats never knew about faucet drinking until my 3rd kitten came along. Then they decided they liked it too, so I had cats all over my counter in the kitchen and the bathroom wanting to drink from the faucet. The Drinkwell was a life saver. They took to it immediately. I tend to be an "over buyer" and wanted the biggest, so I went for the "BIG DOG" size. Worth every penny. I'll never be without a fountain again. Highly recommend! |

I bought your fountain for my two Yorkies! They were hesitant at first, but now they go to it all the time and I find myself filling my 50 oz reservoir every other day! I like the filter idea and the quiet motor. I feel better knowing they're getting clean water instead of something that's sat in the bowl for a couple of days. |

We bought this water fountain over 2 years ago and it's STILL working just fine. If the fountain lessens (after months of use usually) all you have to do is clean the workings. I was worried about replacing parts but the cleaning seems to be sufficient for years. Now the good news for the cats - BOTH of our kitties love this fountain. One is a kitten who loves it so much she licks the top of it to try to get inside where the water is being filtered. She sits on it and drinks upside down. (Yes, she is strange!) They don't want water in a bowl by the way - They want it moving water. This water doesn't go "stale" like still water would after sitting. To spoil them worse they now get bottled water from us. We just purchased the larger water storage unit and the cleaning kit. This is the BEST! |

A good value and it certainly entices my cats to drink more water; helping to prevent UTI’s, blockages, kidney issues, and I’m sure a plethora of other avoidable health problems later. A wonderful product overall. All 14 of my cats love it! |

The Drinkwell Fountain came one week ago. After much research I decided to buy one because my cat kept drinking out of the faucet in our bathroom. This is the best product and truely worth every penny. My cat loves the fountain and has not begged for water from the faucet since. I highly recommend this product. |

My cats, Oreo and Cuddles, love the Drinkwell Pet Fountain. I decided to purchase the larger reservoir for it, and it is the best investment I have made for my cats. They love it, it's beautiful, and they're drinking more water than ever before. What's great is you don't need to keep changing the water daily (pet hair, cat food, dust particles) are all well filtered with this fountain, and the water is always cold. At first, they were a little hesitant because of the "waterfall", but only for a very short time and now they love it. Not only that, but if you put plants near it (artifical of course), their area can look like a garden. |

Recently I purchased the Drinkwell Fountain for my 2 cats, I discovered one of them trying to drink water from the faucet in the bathroom where I kept their water bowl. Whenever I first put out the drinkwell they both were very curious and they would stick their paw into the water, get it wet and lick the water off. They tried to catch the water flowing out from the stream. They finally realized it was there for them to drink from and they have been drinking out of it ever since. They seem to really like it. One of them even drops her mouse toy into the bowl occasionally to get a drink. This is also great when you are away for a couple of days. I am glad I found it online. |

I travel a lot. This water dish with extra water reservoir is the perfect way to make sure my cats (all 10 of them) have fresh water when I'm out of town. My husband is supposed to top off their water glasses daily when I'm gone, and this extra water bowl and reservoir is my peace of mind in case he forgets. I can travel rest assured all my children have fresh water for at least 7 to 10 days. Plus, they love the water bowl. |

I adopted 2 cats whose previous owner had accustomed them to running water from both bathroom and kitchen sink. The older male had to have surgery due to a bladder infection at a very young age because he refused to drink from standing water, so that is why they did it but was extremely annoying and inconvenient to us, so I searched around for alternatives. As soon as I saw this product, I bought it and it is wonderful! After staring at it for almost a week (the smaller cat was even scared of it and I had to weane them off of the faucets completely), they finally began to realize that it was a drinking bowl. It is easy to take apart to clean and to reassemble - HONEST! That was one of my concerns when I saw a picture of it, but the parts are pretty well made considering it is one of the first auto/fountain waterers on the market. If these two can get used to it, ANY cat can! An excellent investment! The 75oz container's mouth and size is large enough so that you can fill it with ice for truly colder water (which is what we do). Both cats watch me fill it and as soon as I leave the room, they take turns drinking. |

After much research, I decided to buy this fountain for my 2 cats and dogs. At first they were not sure what to do with it but after just one day they were drinking like never before. I have had no troubles with it and found that it is not hard to clean at all. I would recommend that you by the reserve bottle for the back as it does run out of water quickly. Other then that it is a great product. |

Just like many of the other testimonials here, I too have a faucet drinker for a cat. She refused to drink any water that wasn't moving. She even learned how to budge up the kitchen faucet to turn it on on her own! I needed an alternative and found it in the Drinkwell Pet fountain. I plunked it down and she took to it immediately! Now her brother is smitten with it as well and the regular water dish is simply there as a standby. It's quiet and easy to clean every other week or so. George and Ginger are drinking more water than ever and in fact I am too. The gentle trickling sounds makes me just as thirsty so we are all healthier for it! (I do refrain from lapping at the little fountain though... :-). |

I am very pleased with my purchase of the Drinkwell Fountain from Drs. Foster and Smith and couldn't believe how fast it was delivered. The fountain was a bargain and my cat and 2 little dogs used this fountain immediately. I purchased it to see if they would drink more water and I would say it's doing the job. I would recommend FS and order from them again. |

I can't believe the amount of water our cat now drinks! She was a bathroom faucet drinker & never drank from her bowl. I was getting worried that some day she could have problems. So I bought the fountain and no longer offered the bathroom faucet...as much. When she wanted a drink I took her to the fountain. It took a week or 2 and now she drinks & drinks. What a great idea & I'm so very, very glad I bought it. |

My cat used to wake me at 4:30 a.m., for me to turn on the sink faucet, so she could drink from a little stream. When i got the Drinkwell fountain, all of my cats loved it. And, the sound of trickling water is so soothing, and masks the sounds of the city. |

I bought my fountain after one of my cats had urinary stones and the vet recommended I get one. My 3 cats love drinking out of it and sit and wait for me to replace it when I am busy cleaning it. It doesn't take that much time to clean. I have had it for a year and luckily Chile hasn't had any stones return. |

This is the BEST investment I have made for my pets (besides adopting the cats themselves)! My first Drinkwell Fountain served me for over 8 years--it was still working, by the way, I just decided to replace it. I donated the other one to my vet. I am sure this fountain prolongs my cats' lives and health, and cleaning only takes about 10 minutes a week. Completely worth it! The cats love it, and drink a lot more water than they used to! |

We bought our Drinkwell Fountain specifically for one of our cats with UTIs about 4 years ago and it's still running. It definitely pays to take care of it, as the previous person posted! One of my relatives got one and didn't think she needed to use the filters and OOPS it died quickly. DEFINITELY use the filters or you will clog your motor and kill the thing. My ONLY complaint about this thing is that I WISH they made them in a different material, like ceramic or something that won't get crusted with hard water stains like this plasticy stuff does. Plus, it is healthier for the animal to use ceramic or stainless steel bowls rather than plastic. But the fountain part is SO great and does get those finicky kitties to drink water more. |

My cats were always tipping over their water bowls and we were stepping in puddles (even if it was on a towel). Since we bought this fountain, I wish they had one for humans! The cats love it. The water is clean, and keeps cool. You can even add ice in the reservoir (that will great once summer hits). The cats are drinking so much, I have to keep refilling the reservoir almost daily. This is a great product for multiple cats and busy households. Easy to clean. The cats love it. |

I've had my Drinkwell Fountain for a few years now, and last year added the Aqua Garden to it. My Lilly is a female Torti-tabby and has always loved running water, and fresh greens (yes she would probably be a vegan if human)... The water needs changing more often once the grass sprouts, but she is absolutely loving it. I started with the kit, and found a local source for wheat grass seed that works just as well in the garden itself. You made a great product even better with this Aqua Garden! |

We've had our Drinkwell for about 5 years, every since our cat was diagnosed with CRF. It's been the best thing in the world for him. We leave it on almost all the time (turn off once in a while to let motor rest and to clean), and he loves it. Recently when he came back from the vet, he didn't cry for food, he wanted his fountain plugged in. Take care of it, and it will be worth much more than you paid. |
