In cats, heartworms create a condition called Heartworm Associated
Respiratory Disease (HARD). While many cats with HARD show
no signs of disease, HARD can cause coughing, listlessness,
appetite loss, vomiting, weight loss, rapid heart rate, blindness,
fainting, convulsions, collapse, and even sudden death.
