With the exception of the canary/finch blend, each blend now has higher protein and lower fat. Seeds have historically contained higher levels of fat than what is thought healthy for a bird. We decided to create blends that contain less. Canaries and finches, however, have a higher energy requirement, so their formula's fat content has not been reduced. Instead, we've added to it more nutritious canary grass and rapeseed.
 We've also developed a blend especially for your parakeets. No longer combined with the canary/finch blend, parakeet formula is lower in fat to help prevent a common health problem in these birds – obesity.
The cockatiel, parrot and macaw formulas now contain the nutritious legumes soybeans and peas, and they have fewer seeds to hull, which means less waste.
