What air pump to buy for protein skimmer

I have bought a Maxum TN-1003 (good air flow, much too loud), a Whisper 40 (not enough air), and a Rena 300 (not enough air) for my protein skimmer and none of them are satisfactory. I have a 29 gal. nano tank. Any recomendations for a pump?

I have heard good reviews about the luft pump. It has a variable voltage regulator that allows the air to be tuned to your needs without restricting the airflow of the pump. It is pricey but should have the output you need.

I have 20 gal cold water aquarium for salmon eggs with Hagen HOB filter. What is best way to provide oxygen to the water?

I am using standard Hagen powehead for entraining oxygen, but I want to avoid risk to small alevin and fry from standard powerhead intake sucking them in.

I'd recommend a sponge type filter with a larger tube and use an airstone with an air pump. An extra suggestion from my experiences is that you can sometimes find tubing to extend the tube almost to the surface which increases lift (moves more water), moves the surface of the water more (more oxygen gets into the water), and removes the problem of small eggs or fry being sucked in.

If you have a power head, that will most likely provide enough water circulation in your tank to prevent "dead" zones and help to enable gas exchange in your tank.

Thank you for your question. In most cases, air pumps are not normally used in saltwater systems. To add circulation and oxygen, many saltwater aquarium owners place powerheads towards the surface of the water.
