Thank you for your question. The best way to remove or eliminate any kind of algae from your aquarium is finding out what is causing it. With any kind of algae it is normally caused by lighting, over feeding, high nutrients and poor water quality. We would only recommend having your lights on for 8-10 hours per day, any longer can lead to algae growth. You would only want to feed your fish once a day or even once every other day, as they do not need to eat every day. The more you feed the more waste they produce, which caused the excess nutrients and fish waste in the aquarium. You also want to make sure that you are doing regular water changes. Either 10% weekly or 20% every two weeks, as this will help maintain proper water parameters. You would also want to make sure that you are testing your water parameters to make sure they are within range. Also scraping the glass will help as well. Anytime you remove algae from your glass or other surfaces you want to siphon it out right away, as it will spread.
After you have done the above and you still have algae growth, please feel free to contact us back via email at firstname.lastname@example.org
