I raised GD,s for years At one time when I couldnt find the bigger size clippers I used bolt cutters for their nails, then trimmed the edges with the small clippers. My Danes were very patient will me.

Deluxe quick finder quick sensor nail clipper

I understand "HOW" the product works..my question is what type of sensor would determine where the quick is..in other words what is it trying to locate when the green light goes off....the only thing i can think of is that it is some sort of a sensor that detects blood BUT that would have to be a very fine tuned medical instrument for it to do that..so i am a bit skeptical on this item....i would appreciate any extra info you may have. thank you in advance.

I know this answer is long past when the question was posted but my answer may help another customer. I bought a "quick finder" nail trimmer and can confirm that the product does not work. You are better off having your vet or other professional teach you how to clip your dog's nails. I have a German Shepherd and his nails are black (and therefore no way can I view the quick) and I assumed this would be a wonderful product. It was a complete waste of time and money in my opinion, and cannot caution against it highly enough.
